If Laudrup lands this guy for that price it will almost certainly be the deal of the season....and he is already exceeding all my expectations.

Makes me smile to see Brendan struggling to land his targets, even ex players!, and royally ****ing up the Carroll situation while Laudrup breezes in and improves our squad almost instantly.

Think of it more of a real Plan B. B or A, A or B, which starts depends on who we're playing and how well A or B have been doing. One might come to dominate over the other, or perhaps not. Look at Spain in the Euros - they could start Fabregas and shift to Torres or Torres then shift to Fabregas - to completely different approaches to cracking the nut. The key thing is we're adding power, versatility and flexibility.

Oh dearie me, a typo! I know I'll write it out a hundred times. You speak of respect, yet you come on our board with your pic of Brenda ( his stage name by the way) and then try to smarm your way around.

Your a WUM chum, piddle off back to puddletown you boring pedantic little tike!

Good point Yankee. Just worried that the players who did so well last year don't feel pushed out.

Get the impression that ML is not the touchy feely type.

Hopefully the integration will happen on USA tour.

There`s a Spanish football specialist, sorry can`t remember his name, says it`s a done deal. Apparently, we here don`t realise how much of an idol Mr. L is in Spain, and how players want to play for him. How true that is, I don`t know.

He does sound like the type of player we`ve been missing. Strong, powerful with a long pinging pass. Erik Larsen loves him, so if it comes off, well done Mr. number 2.

Yep I think so too, I think Laudrup will mix the starting line up a wee bit depending on the opposition.

I have a feeling he will be a little bit more defensive on away games with a view to flood forward with pace when we attack

No doubt it will, most of our guys haven't worked with the Laudrup type, but the way he's come in must be exciting if not a little daunting. However who is there as his right hand man Curt! who better to steer him and guide him to the strengths ( and weaknesses ) of our boys. No for me exciting times and exciting opportunities for us to improve and really show how Swansalona can play!

Having seen his goals from last season on you tube he definatly looks like he could play as a striker, he has a good height.scores the odd header ,had plenty of far post tap ins (you know the ones danny missed by being half a yard too knackered to get there) and has a great run and shot, all the tools needed, im not saying DG is to be pushed out but i think the players Laudrup is signing are players that will play in the first XI or at least on the bench, he is after all going to want to put his own stamp on things. This player just looks like a centre forward when you look at the type of goals scored, he could defo do a job up there if needed IMO.

DG has done great but he needs to have pressure applied on him i reckon. <ok>

if i remember correctly he made revista de la liga's (sky spanish football show) team of the year.

he's also 6 "1 so not a small player who would get bullied in england.

could be a master stroke this, along with de guzman and chico, he knows he can get value for money in spain......<ok>

You know you'll write it 100 times? At least you know something (obviously not anything about commas) <ok>

He's my avatar because he's the manager of my team and also because he's from Northern Ireland, like me, AND because I like his style. Don't really see why it would bother you, unless you're bitter about the man leaving.

Further childishness is seen in your post in your continued use of an idiotic nickname, a poor joke about a 'stage name', poor grammar... oh, and 'piddle off'... I mean, really?

I don't want to derail this thread so I'll leave it at that. You, plainly, are a simpleton.

Apparently he's flying in to Wales as I type to undergo his medical and complete a 3 year deal in the morning. He'll then fly back to Madrid for a farewell press conference on Friday. After some negotiation we paid Rayo Vallecano 2.5m Euros... Fecking Bargain!
