On the plus side there will probably be two Hampden victories to get the history jump started.

Russ I am actually quite excited to be playing all of that lot and hopefully see them bringing in some young Scottish players. At least it's not playing the same old teams four times a season.

Don't you think the next few seasons are going to be dead boring for your lot with zero competition? I mean all you've got to look forward to is Europe and you haven't really get that far in that recently (you won't always meet Sion) have you?

The only thing you have to look forward for the next three years seems to be mocking our self-inflicted predicament. Why don't you join us in division three for something different? <whistle>

I'm sure we will get bored pretty quick if we do start romping the SPL for the next few seasons, hopefully not and someone will rise to the challenge, you never know do you?

I hope this whole shennanigans does breathe new life into our leagues, if the proposed changes in league structure do actually go through then it will all have been worth it, obvioulsy I doubt Rangers fans would agree.

It'a a very surreal feeling just now, everyone is holding their collective breath and waiting for the next twist in this saga, i'm maybe not yet 100% convinced Rangers will play in SFL3 and until they run out for their first game I still will have difficulty letting it all sink in. I don't know if Rangers will be able to get automatic promotion in consecutive seasons but it will be a helluva ride anyway and there are certainly interesting times ahead for all the clubs.

As I said earlier today on another thread, if some clubs do go to the wall then it's all very sad but in the long run the clubs who die will be no greater loss than Clydebank and Third Lanark. Scottish football has to get real and trim off the excess fat in the shape of clubs who have no real right to exist within such a structure.

I'm also now convinced that no "Rangers" will play next season - meaning that the SFL3 clubs get a bye every nine weeks and league reconstruction to go in before the following season.

If it does take 3 years or more for The Ship of Theseus to get back to the SPL, I'm not convinced that we'll win the league three years on the trot.

Teams will only need to come to Glasgow twice next season instead of four times (if they're top six and the split evens out) and every team's games against Celtic will be the "biggies" in their season meaning that there will be a greater focus on getting points off Celtic.

There's some ludicrous bet going about for anyone other than Celtic to win the league next season - it could be worth taking. I reckon we're in for a brutal season and not the relentless march to victory some are forecasting.

Lets face it prior to 1986 Scottish football was at it's healthiest with three teams and sometimes four in with a chance of winning the league. The Scottish teams were also a match for some of the best Europe could offer.

Then along came the moneymen at Ibrox and everything changed. Clubs got themselves into trouble by trying to compete financially with what turned out to be a club that ultimately resorted to cheating and all sorts of irregularities to continue to buy success.

Good luck in Division 3, if indeed you are actually permitted to join. That is by no means certain yet.

Surely asset stripping would mean the end of Ibrox an the conveyor belt of talent that is Murray Park?

The money will have to be clawed back where possible.
