not sure thats jack payne to be true that he's on about, payne seems level headed and don't see him being greedy and changing the goal posts with regards a deal.

Yeah I just listened to it and have a feeling the agent was thinking about himself, well that is what agents always think about. He was probably after a better fee for himself rather than something better for Jack.

I think it is Jack Payne, but it is not his actions which have caused this, it is a greedy agent after more money to fill up his pockets.

No but it is possible as that is the sort of price we would expect clubs to pay for Payne and he has been heavily linked with Peterborough.

Posh chairman on Sky reckons it should be 'law' (his words) that every football league club should have a director of football. Reckons it will be the 'standard' in the future. No mention of the 20 year old yet.

Being that their Director of Football is Barry Fry that means he would have been negotiating with Paul Scally about the deal (or Hess if the above is true)

The interview has just finished, no further mention of the earlier topic mentioned on Talksport.

All he said was that he had trouble with an agent in Portugal.

More seriously though, I found it quite interesting some of the stuff the chairman said in the interview. Particularly about the loan system and how he does not like it. Not quoting his exact words but along the lines of there not your players, their not committed to the club etc. Might seem slightly off topic to the OP but in truth it is not, because it is my entire thoughts on the current issues not just at our club but within football. We always want the quick fix, short term, easy option to achieve our goal. Do not get me wrong, they can help in time of injuries and we have had some very good loan signings but we are still where we are...L2. Until we start changing the way we do things, we may well remain where we are. Maybe we need to balance the books as has been suggested in parts of the thread, well if that is the case are we not being a little over ambitious with all the talk some months back for plans of a new stadium within the next 10 years. All pipe dreams...

Once again I have differing views on this to you brb. The loan system can be of benefit to many. A few ways just off the top of my head. 1, gives lower league clubs (and their fans) the opportunity to see players that under normal circumstances they would see. 2, gives players learning their trade or returning from injury the chance to get some good competitive football. 3, gives the club and player the opportunity to see if they are compatible (for want of a better term) before anything permanent is done.

Yes there is flaws as their is with anything but it definitely has many positive points too.

i think the loan system works given the player as an individual, if they take the view that his parent club just want rid of him and he doesnt want to play for this lowley club then yes it may not have any benifits, however if the player grasps the opertunity to prove they are worthy of a place in their parent club or look to use it as an opertunity to place themselves in the shop window then normally (if the player is good enough) it will work out.
