    Could Spain beat Chelsea?

I doubt it. Barca couldn't do it in two games. Even 11 v 10 at home.

And before Chelsea ended the Guardiola era, Barca were the best team in the world... better than Spain: winning 15 matches in a row.

    Bayern couldn't either.

    Spain: no chance IMO.

I would have said NO before the final, but the way Spain anhialated Italy, I think they would certainly beat us on that form. At least last years team, this year, who knows, we are yet to see if weve improved.
Spain played nothing like Barcelona in the final, who I agree, we own.

You're without Drogba remember, he's the reason you beat Barca and didn't lose to Bayern. Considering Mata and Torres are automatic starters at Chelsea and aren't for Spain I guess that either makes them better or Del Bosque an idiot. I'm in agreement with both theories :p

Yid: are Spain better than Barca? No.

Maybe we'd let Spain play a Messi as a wild card to give them a chance

Why would you say not? When Messi turns up they are very good but Spain's defence was much better, they conceded 1 goal all Euros and that was against the second best side in the tournament who they played twice.

Drogba didn't play well in either game but he did what he does best and found the net when it mattered most. The reason we beat those teams was down to a team ethic and digging in. One minute rival fans claim we did nothing but defend yet the next they claim we only won it because of Drogba. Which is it? <whistle>

In a one off game why not??

Im assuming that you would adopt the usual european tactic of 11 men behind the ball for 89mins 50 secs and hit them on the break or go the full 90 mins and go for penalties again.:emoticon-0175-drunk

If thats what it takes to win trophies you can only dream of, then probably, especially if we had 2 men banned and 2defenders not played for 6 weeks and our last 2 matches away. We would still score as many goals as our alleged surerior opponents, so under those circumstances, sure, we could win.

Well he scored the only goal in the game you beat them in so it's not that ridiculous. His diving about and time wasting helped a lot too. I'm not trying to have a dig but when you were clearing the ball long to one man, winning freekicks and even conceding them as often as he did helped take the pressure off giving you a chance to re organise. There's not another striker that could've done it that well, let alone Torres who doesn't play like that.

It's funny - you could tell how Chelsea were approaching a game (or even a period within a game) by how Drogba acted.

Fair play to him he did it well but it was rather funny.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. The worse side to ever win the Champions league better than the best team ever? That joke has to be shared.

Thought barca were meant to be best side ever.

Think Liverpool 05 worse: 50 odd points and Gerrard cheating a pen to draw level, then parking the bus once more and reina's unsporting gamesmanship winning the shoot out.

Yes Drogba had a huge say in it but is was the whole team... Looking back on it it was incredible. Was in the Allianz and I didn't really feel that we were Champions of Europe until I watched it back on Sky when I got home... Incredible.
