Think the batters buggered, only works when the charger is plugged in but the chargers been having problems too so needs to be in a certain position to work
Sounds like my life story where laptops are concerned. Having to sit extra-still so the charger doesn't slip out and shut it down. Then have to do that recovery screen. Always bloody dropping them and breaking the battery, watching them overheat and generally **** up in every way possible. Gonna get one of those Alienware things one day. No way can they be broken.
I had same trouble with my laptop, thought it was the battery got a new battery no different turned out the charger/mains unit. You can get replacements on ebay. Don't go to the manufacturer you will have to take out a mortgage.
