We need to sort through the rift raft IMO. I am all for foreigners coming into this country IF they integrate properly and can provide something we struggle to (ie. Australia style) and quickly reject all the people who can barely string a sentence along in English and eject all those currently here who offer us nothing and sponge from our own tax payers. We shouldn’t have to tolerate people coming here bringing their criminal lifestyles with them! Those that come here to seek shelter and safety should show they appreciate our hospitality by working for a living or putting something back into the country, not sponge from us and expect the easy life. They would usually get stoned for speaking out in their own country, but give them a little freedom and they ****ing run riot! I say our govornment should show a little balls and kick the ****ers out if they don't like how we british live IN BRITAIN FFS!
Well said Chris-Gashead I have lately held the belief that there should be a large sign up over all immigration points in our country, saying IF YOU LIKE THE BRITISH AND WISH TO BE ONE, THEN WELCOME IF YOU DONT LIKE US THEN WE RECOMMEND YOU TURN AROUND AND GO BACK It would of course also be present in French, Spanish and Arabic. If the wording were left to me it may be a shorter message, but the essence would be the same

What I find bizarre is, I saw a woman on the TV who had attended a protest march against the EDL stating the "white men" have had their say (she was a white woman btw) now I'm here having the say for the women? Well I don't know if you've noticed love but under Sharia law you wont be getting much of a say in anything, the gay pride march also took an opposite stance to the EDL. I'm pretty sure under Sharia law the punishment for homosexuality is execution. both sets of communities would definitely be treated as second class citizens? Whilst the EDL is considered to be swivel eyed, right wing loons, ran by racists, we are never going to be able to have an adult discussion about most peoples concerns about the Islamification of the UK. a debate that is sorely needed as you can tell from just a few posts written on here.
'Islamification of the UK' has been bandied about on here by quite a few people. It's total tosh, whipped up by the EDL and some of the baser right wing tabloids. The UK is not being Islamified. Our institutions are not threatened by Sharia Law. The vast majority of Muslims in the UK just want to quietly get on with their lives and do the best for their families, just like we do. They don't want to impose their beliefs on anyone. Yes, there's been some problems too and many of these are localised in already depressed Northern former-industrial towns, but there are millions of immigrants who have come to our country over the past 20 years who work, contribute, pay taxes and are fully integrated. Is it really fair to tar so many of them by the actions of a few thousand extremists? Do Sikh, Hindu and Jewish communities who have chosen not to integrate get the same level of media attention that Muslims do? I don't care what the EDL claim to say they are; there is no doubt that they are infested with racists - that's why the BNP's in decline, most of their footsoldiers now march with the EDL. Quite honestly, I'm pretty dismayed to read so many EDL apologists posting on here.
Baldee, I dont think most people in the UK mind foreigners coming into this country IF they make it a better place and add to the econemy and integrate. My concern/issue is the fact we seem to let them in to claim benefits which would be better used elsewhere. Our government keep complaining about the debt we have, well stop giving it to those who come here from out of nowhere seeking an easy ride and free money, and ensure they have a job when they get here... or like the aussie's, dont let them in in the first place. I actually work with a lot of foreign people who are decent people, ranging from South African, Swedish, Kenya, Slovakia, China etc etc and they are all welcome from my point of view because they integrate, work hard, pay tax and live happy lifestyles, and therefore generally add a great deal to this country. Those i want gone are those with the sole intention of earning from the tax payer, or those bringing their criminal lifestyles to this country to create these so called hoods.... we dont need them!
Yes, I'd find it hard to disagree with that Chris. However, there are a lot of people who think that all or most immigrants, especially Muslims, are layabouts who want nothing less than the overthrow of the British way of life. You only have to look at some of the posts on this thread which are little more than thinly-veiled rants of 'send 'em all back!' to see that.
I am not in the EDL. I say as I see it, and I can tell you that many of the posts on here are definitely NOT 'tosh', whipped up by anybody. They are acute observations on a system which has been mismanaged by successive governments, and manipulated and plundered by a highly organized and determined foreign invasion. Ever been to a property auction up north ? No ? Well you would find it an education.
Questions that should be asked of all incoming immigrants at the border. 1. Do you or any member of your family speak English? Answer No - then go home 2. Do you or any other member of your family have a job offer? Answer No - then go home 3. Do you or any of your family have sufficient funds to support the family for 2 years? Answer No - go home. May seem radical but look at other members of the old Commonwealth and you will find they are questions asked by Immigration Control rior to you departure to that country. Seems perfectly fair to me because it's done solely to protect their citzens and to maintain integrity. The UK decided to drop these crucial steps to entry since joining the EU and the nation has suffered because of these policies and will continue to do so until someone has the balls to stand up and say "enough is enough", but don't hold your breath. The human rights issue surfaces every time someone wants to take positive action, so may I remind you that you all have human rights too and they seem to have been conveniently forgotten by your government.

The fact that the vast majority of immigrants work and pay taxes clearly shows that there are jobs for them to do - in many cases, jobs that British-born people won't do. You seem to think that there's some kind of insidious conspiracy to taint our precious British bloodstock. I would agree that we should not be carrying immigrants that refuse to work. However, the way that people seem to discuss this subject is that the majority of immigrants are workshy, when this is simply not true. Many of you are talking about immigrants and Muslims in very general terms which is just what racist organisations such as the EDL want. So where are we talking about when you mention 'property auctions up North? Harrogate? Chester? Leeds? Scarborough? Of course, there will be towns, such as Bradford, which have a high proportion of immigrants and that is because immigrant populations like to live near like-minded people - if you emigrated from the UK, you'd probably want to live amongst people similar to yourselves - what's wrong with that?
BB if you think quite a few of the posts on here come across as thinly veiled rants of " send em all back" that would indicate to me that there is a problem that is causing concern within our society. One of the things I like about this board (city and Rovers alike) is the general feeling of fair mindedness and common sense and intelligence, Immigration has indeed seen some benefits to this country and I for one don't regard this debate as a " colour of skin" issue. I just feel if our society is too watered down and mixed too severely with different cultures this could lead to massive problems for our children. Yes, most people do now feel political correctness has gone mad, this in itself creates racism. I get more and more racist jokes sent by text on a daily basis, I cant help but feel resentment is brewing and then those good people who have came here and worked hard and integrated in to our society will suffer that resentment due to bad management. For me its simple if you have a 5 bedroom house and all 5 bedrooms are full, you don't invite any more mates as lodgers cause your full. Only today the news contains growing concerns about population levels growing beyond our control. Its bad enough having to deal with all our own **** from society, lets not keep importing everyone elses **** and have to deal with that...
These isles has been built by the influences of immigrants we have always been welcome to other nationalities yes there has been a lot of abuse to the system and it needs sorting out but both sides showing hatred to each other isn't gonna solve a thing one of the problems is the church is still stuck in its old ways people are changing yet religion hasn't and lack of knowledge about them is causing divides and there is extremism in all religions but we are a multicultural country and we always have and always will be
Since when does religion 'change'? I am not religious so religion has nothing to do with my feelings. I generally dislike the fact that it would appear immigrants get the better end of the deal above all others, even those who were born into this country. We have people who are desperate for a council house in this country, yet they are made to wait a long time for one to become available, yet immigrants appear to arrive here, and within days have themself a nice little council house to accommodate them and their family. Very nice for them, but what about our own? I mean whatever happened to 'look after your own'? Anyway, talk about racism…I had a gentleman call me a white prick in town a few months back because I was standing in his way, yet I had to bite my tongue because if I were to retaliate in any way, I would most likely end up being accused of racism and charged for it. No one said a word to him about racism though, even though it was in ear shot of just about every white person within Cabot Circus. They spoke enough about equal rights for women, but fail to provide equal rights to those who were born here, with those who just came here on a whim.
