I feel the anxiety every time I log in to this site these days. There seems to be a lot of tension, nail biting and disgruntled fan noise because we haven't brought in 3 or 4 signings yet. Now, whilst I can empathise with many of you I also feel very frustrated that there isn't the patience shown to other managers in recent history, such as Keane and Bruce. They were both allowed time and full backing to bring in their own players over much longer periods and yet a better, far more proven and able manager is under some pressure merely 2 weeks into his first proper transfer window, this after guiding the club to safety when a potential relegation fight was on the cards only back in December. I have just listened to him on SAFC TV discussing preseason, the Korea trip, the current squad and new signings. He envisages that the core of the team will remain and that some quality additional players will be coming in the next few weeks and unlike his predecessor, he seems to actually have a plan for building success and not a 'throw the dart in a list of names' approach of Bruce. Its obvious he has identified the 2 or 3 key signings he wants and his demeanor was of consummate calm and oozing confidence. Now, if we get to the end of August and we haven't brought in the strikers, left back and winger/midfielders we so definitely need, then I will also offer my disappointing remarks, as despite many assumptions, I am not blinkered over O'Neill at all. I am however highly delighted he is our manager and have full faith he will deliver but in 8 months he cant build a top class team of his own can he? So whilst we all want the same thing, we have to agree to just let the manager do his stuff and then we can all comment on that outcome once the season starts and results will dictate. I absolutely believe 100% that we haven't missed out on one of our targets thus far, so i cant understand the anxiety to be honest. On a separate note, watching the team training on SAFC TV, its obvious that the new kit is very classy and cant wait to see the new home top in a week or so time.
I think the fact you post on all my threads seconds after I post them, shows everyone who is constantly on the mighty Cests hook daft lad. Lol Do you ever go out in case your lord and master makes a post?
nice post mate! i think your right it will only be a couple of top players and he will give some of the up and coming younguns a go!! cant wait for the season to start. ha'way the lads
Was in Maga last week, you ever been anywhere exciting like that? Mr "I love our manager he oozes class and consummate calmness". Reeled them in with one simple comment, pow.
just kills off the post with multiple inane wum comments, until any constructive debate is killed off.
I don't read the NUFC forum Chucky, nor do you as your possessed with trolling on this board with your pathetic comments.
What everŷone has to remember is Bruce spent a lot of money on the squad at the start of last season. It was near enough a complete overhaul. I don't think short is gonna pump a load of money on new signings without selling first. I think short and MON have a 3 year plan to get into Europe, which includes trying to bring on players like colback, McLean and Campbell. With the currrent clubs In the premier league we will be safe again this season but I still expect 3 decent signings before the season starts.
Nice job Ces, agree with your comments.....I think MON is very calm cool and collected....didn't I read somewhere that he was studying Law at one time.....and with that background he is going to play his cards close to his chest in every decision he makes....he ain't no fool.
