Norway, whilst I agree with everything you say, we have to be realistic. I don't want him to go. But even the likes of Spurs, Man utd, Arsenal have lost players. 1. due to them wanting to leave and 2. due to the money offered. Whilst we are in the enviable position of being financialy secure every player has his price.

I want to see Joe linning up for us at Loftus road come 18/8/12. but every player has his price. I hope i am wrong.

Welcome to the board mate :)

I agree also that £20m is not worth a sale, especially if you look at the Liverpool method of payment for transfer of players!!

Point is he is worth £60m to us and that goes for most of the first team, we need to build on what we have not take away the essential framework of our success, which quite frankly was alot more fraught with danger than our 11th place suggested <ok>

<applause> We've just come up and are new not only to the PL but also to the size of monies being thrown around I'd rather keep someone who enhancers the team than sell on without getting the full benefit of his talents , easy to say we can replace , lets see how we go this season without Chaukler & Siggurson (not our players I know but 1st names on the team sheet last year ), to lose a third of your 1st 11 (possibly a quarter if Sinclair goes) is a big loss

Yes every player has his price, but we are fans not chairmen!! point is he is under contract and worth more to us in the team than £20m in the bank spread over 4ys or whatever payment plan prem clubs like to come up with these days, there is a time to shed off players but with us already losing the manager there would be too much instability in the team/club to sanction a transfer away of one of our local heroes and star players.

Dont forget, he is young and will only get better, if a team is willing to pay us £20m thats because they beleive he is an asset that will be worth £30m in a few years, going by todays stupid daft prices.

Like Neil Taylor last year, nobody heard from his side until the deal was apparently all done and dusted!! he was happy enough to stay and improve, smart move as he has now tripled his wage value and transfer/signing on fee if he were to move to another club.

Indeed keeping our best players=investment for the future. We need to establish ourselves in the PL. If we lost say Allen and and another top player I would be really worried about Swansea's survival.

you are all missing the point....Its young joe who is talking about moving to liverpool, £8-£10 million would be his value at the most at this point in his career. Jinks wont slap on a £15 million tag as that would suggest that he is willing to sell him and if liverpool came in with a silly offer of £10 million and joe wants to go then all he has to do is put in a transfer request and go to a tribunal where we would not get anywhere near Liverpool offer.....To me if he really wants to go grab the money and run or risk getting less, he would be silly if he did go as i dont think he is anywhere near good enough for a bigger team...

Norway, I am with you i don't want him to go. But unfotuneately every player does have a price. I agree with everything you say and i dont think he is easily replaceable. But, if the Irish one comes hunting I hope HJ has the resolve to tell him to go and F**k himself.

I must also add that i am very realistic about this and did point out in my origional post that if Joe wanted the move thats a different story altogether, then we screw the buyer for every penny, my thoughts are though that he is level headed(doesnt he drive a smart car??) and with a baby on the way may well sign a new deal at the swans on a hefty pay rise ala Ferrie Bodde after Derby came Knocking :)

I understand your points Trundle, every player has a price indeed, but every player also has a contract ! some longer term than others, joe has a longterm contract and i dont think the club will want to sell him to anybody anyway, as we;ve seen with Huw Jenkins, he can be a stubburn bastard when he needs to be!! (thats why im convinced Daiswan is in fact Huw Jenkins) <ok>

That is very true about the payment should he go, I remember huw speaking about clubs paying in instalments and how he says our club will never do that. He heavily criticised clubs for doing this, if clubs cannot afford to pay for players upfront then they don't deserve that player.

This takes players from smaller clubs then they don't have the money to pay for a replacement. The smaller clubs are not bloody banks, if larger clubs want a loan for a player they should try Barclays et al for it

You appear to be missing the point here Superswan , Liverpool cannot come in for a player unless another club bids first for one. There is protection clause preventing that

Can you show me where Joe Allen has been quoted as saying he is wanting to move to Liverpool??

    PS

I also know people in and around the club Dai(before you wheel that one out) and its by no means common knowledge or talked about that he wants a move away <ok>

And so we go back to the well made origional point! Liverpool cant come in for him anyway..<laugh>

Personally i dont know the in's and out's of this agreement but i do know that Brenden Rodgers wants to stay on very good terms with the swans, the other intresting point to make is where would Joe Allen play? and also its fair to point out that rodgers isnt talking about playing the swansea way he is talking about playing the "liverpool" way ! so why take our players ?? all seems like daft talk when you weigh it up <ok>

bigger clubs should pay up front in full and lesser clubs given options that are set up by us, all this play now pay later with clubs who can afford to pay should stop......If you cant afford to pay the money agreed then dont waste our time...

    Agree <ok>

Then Joe is going nowhere soon, not unless Liverpool get a big wedge from selling Caroll, who apparently has said he wants to stay and fight for his place..<ok>

Identity, this is news to me. Do you have any media links to show Allen wants to move?
