You wonder whether we could even be looking at playing 3-4-3 with Hoilett and Adel played wide at the front and Traore in left midfield, there really seems to be so many options opening up for this squad...

It is a good post but on the comment
, isn't Hoilett exactly that? A natural left winger. I'm excited by the prospect

Are people actually finding a way to complain about this possibility?

Excatly that....... Has great pace, can score goals, puts dangerous balls into the box and can pick out a through pass.

Anyone saying no to Hoillett joining us is stupid this guy is pure class.

And people saying he is mucking us about ask your self you get three job offers on the table...... what are you going to do just pick one at random or see what the best option is and what is best for you and your family.

I am in shock that people are turning their noses up at Hoilett. He did play on the left wing last season as I watched many games where he played there.

Think of it like this - Hoilett replaces Smith in the 25 man squad. How can people say no to that? As much as a like Smith, I would rather have Hoilett.

I honestly believe that if it was announced that we'd signed Messi, there are people on here who'd moan and say he's too short. I just don't get it. I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but come on. Hoilett is class, he's young, fast and knows where the goal is.

Would the people who are turning their noses up at him, have been saying the same if we were signing him this time last year?? I bloody well hope not, I know things have changed for the better, but some are talking like we're going for Europe this year. Hoilett would be a fantastic addition to the squad and that's all there is too it really. Calling him a money grabber is a little unfair as there isn't a single person on here who has the first clue as to what the situation is and how much he's been offered.

I like the look of Hoilett (which I could make my mind up about 2 L's and/or 2 T's though, very annoying).
Anyway.. he plays well with both left and right foot, something which upsets defenders as they never know which way he'll go; and he can shoot with both left and right too.
It's that flexibility and his youth that will have surely attracted our management team.
With depth in our squad really developing, it means players will really have to earn their places in the team. Prima donnas or not.. you do the job asked of the manager and you'll be in the team. No Form! No Train! No Play!! There'll be someone else queueing up, and keen, to take your place. I'm liking it.

Hughes has always been a staunch 442 man and sometimes 451/4411 if he has to be defensive.

4231 would make sense but we have so many forward so it looks like we will have to play 2 up front. I suppoer 352 would have made the most sense if we didnt sign Fabio.

I expected there to be backlash and debate on my post and isn't that why we are here? To voice our opinions on our beloved club? :D.

Even if you look at Hoillett's goals for Blackburn last season, most of them were in central positions drifting in from the flank. He isn't a "winger" as such but more of an Inside Forward. A winger is my eyes is someone who gets his boots plastered with touchline chalk before curling one into the box with his outside peg. We already have one of these "Inside forward" players who has just been given the number 10, new contract, and has just been installed with a work rate under Hughes that had not been seen in his career before. So I can't see Taarabt being a rotation/back up player unless Hughes drastically changes his system to a more attacking one. Ask any Blackburn/Man city fan or Welshman and they will tell you he just isn't the type of coach that is successful playing open, flamboyant football. Had Taarabt been sold this summer however, than Hoillett in my opinion would of been an amazing signing.

We just can't have an attitude towards signings that "Oh hes good lets sign him", theres much more to it than that. The team must have a balance on the pitch. Teams are still going to fancy 3 points against us this season and will attack us. Our full back positions (mainly left) are problem areas. Fabio/Traore will need help in the bigger matches. Can you imagine Hoillett puffing a cigar on the halfway line whilst Fabio is being massacred by Marin/Hazard/Cole or Lennon/Walker? It does not make for comfortable thinking.

Martin Olsonn (a natural winger) and Gael Givet (a natural center back) both played left back for Blackburn last season, which was a troublesome position for them. I recall even Pedersen playing there on occasion. Blackburn went on to concede even more goals than we did last season, 12 more in fact. I can't remember us keeping many clean sheets.

I understand that we need players of Hoillett's quality to progress as a Football club. But these standard signings need to be made in key areas of the pitch such as central midfield and center back. We have only signed Ryan Nelsen in these positions. Diakite will be a star, but hes not the finished product yet, he needs to work on his temperament. Faurlin is a quality player but needs to prove himself again after his injury lay off, Barton calls himself an England international midfielder yet hasn't quite grasped the art of passing a football yet and in addition Derry is losing his legs. Clint Hill is aging and Ferdinand is poor at defending set pieces. I shouldn't be able to question players in key positions as much as I am right now. Blackburn still got relegated even with the quality of Hoillett in their side, we need our core to be near his standard too if we are to progress.

Perhaps his dad demanding a £1m fee for doing nothing has got something to do with it.
