"It was agreed that Dundee FC would be invited to fill the space vacated by Rangers FC in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League."

So no surprises here then - unless you expected a u-turn and Sevco to be invited in

The decision was taken at the SPL's annual meeting, which means Dunfermline Athletic's hopes of a reprieve from relegation have been dashed.
SPL clubs also agreed that it would "work with the Scottish FA, SFL and Rangers to facilitate Rangers FC taking their place in SFL Division Three.
The SPL fixtures had left space for a "Club 12" after the old Rangers headed for liquidation.

Their won't be a blue sky coverage next season.
Why should the SPL and others help the bastard child of the now deceased Rangers

I'd much rather Dundee in the SPL than Dunfermline. More fans, bigger club imo. Plus makes for derbies with Utd and (kinda) St Johnstone.

Agree Dundee were the better option to replace old Rangers, some happy memories at Dens Park . Mcclair scoring 4 goals , Mcstay scored a fantastic goal top corner ,Agathe last minute winner but also remember getting beat 5-1 ,I was still outside when Aitken scored first minute for us to concede 5!!!

I've got awful memories of Dens Park.

Before they seated it, the away end was a shambles.

I remember being in that street twice in successive Saturdays once - snowed both games - Dundee game was 0-0 and I think United beat us 3-1 (Duncan Ferguson scored, did a big GIRFUY then got a snowbaw in the chest)

Sfa insisting the transfer ban stands to Sevco in Division 3 ,Charlie Green refusing to accept it . Looks as if Rangers transfer to Sevco will not happen and no league football for the Huns next season .

Ah well, at least 'tis true that every cloud etc...... Dundee, Airdrie Utd., Stranraer - and perhaps The Spartans? - should be able to vouch for that. <whistle>
