The longer this takeover drags on, the less ambition Snodgrass will be able to see to convince him to stay at Leeds and reject the dead-end club Norwich will become after the departure of Lambert and appointment of the underwhelming Hughton.

Come on Leeds, time to realize this one's still in our hands and signing Luke Varney and Andy Gray isn't going to convince Snoddy.

The same Chris Houghton whose team gained 102 points in his only Championship campaign?

    1. He had a top half Premiership quality team with Newcastle which Kenny bloody Jackett could have got promoted.
    2. He hardly did brilliantly in the top flight with Toon and his signings there were generally poor.
    3. He's managed for two campaigns in the Championship. Remember that team Birmingham City who he couldn't get promoted?

He's not a bad manager, but definitely an underwhelming one for what was until recently a progressive, exciting top flight force. I'd rather stay at a bigger club (not dick-waving, just stating facts) with a brighter future than look for short-term, unsustainable money/glory.

So in short, TC, how about 'no'.

I mentioned in another thread we are on the verge of losing too many targets if funds are not released for Warnock very soon, seems like it could be a whole lot worse than just losing future targets....

I'd say getting them to the group stages of the Europa League - 5th round of the FA Cup (drawing with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge) and finishing 4th was not too bad considering he was left without any money when Carson Young was arrested <ok>

Plus I'd hardly call Ben Arfa and Tiote "poor signings"

Once again, he had a squad which could comfortably survive in the Premier League. And their wage bill will have been astronomical - some of the players he signed on frees/low fees won't have come in on austerity wages. Chris Burke, Marlon King, Jonathan Spector, Steven Caldwell. All Hughton signings who I'll bet were each earning £15kpw+.

You think he's an exciting appointment who'll take Norwich forwards, the sort of manager who'd be able to lure Snodgrass away from a good future at a club he enjoys playing for?

They've obviously got major scouting links in France, hence the continued hunting there under Pardew. So I wouldn't credit Hughton for those, even if he did have the final say. Not his work.

Look at the English/English-based players he'll have had a say in scouting himself. Lovenkrands, Routledge, Best, Perch, Simpson, Campbell, Gosling, Kuqi. Crap value for the money spent.

I don't know about you lot, but I'm cheesed off about all this now. Our promotion team from L1 should have been the springboard for investment to get us back to back promotions just like Norwich, Southampton etc. But no that fooker Bates has done nothing but asset strip this club. BJ and Howson and now maybe Snodds all playing in the prem for Norwich. BJ did a great job for them and has been mentioned as England potential, Howson has quality and part of the England u-21 set-up and has a big future and Snodds should be a regular for Scotland. So 3 internationals we allow to leave, one on a freebie because we wouldn't offer him a decent contract. Another left because he knew there was no ambition so left his home town club on the cheap, and now Snodds maybe leaving because of the same reason. Factor in Delph and we had a good base and Gradel was sold just before the window closed last summer and it was nothing to do with going home ffs

Bates you're a robbing twot and should be tarred and feathered. You have done nothing for this club in nearly 8-years except line you're own pockets and you should be ashamed <grr>

Carr has just signed an 8-year contract because everyone would like to have him spotting talent. Our scouts do a bit on google and youtube and thats about it.

    Well remembered. <ok>

Father of camp comic Alan. <eek> I never knew this.

I'd be very interested to know which 'Grayson signings' were actually Gwyn Williams signings by the way. People would do well not to forget Williams had the final say on ALL Leeds signings. Vayrynen and Forssell are certs, aren't they?

I see the headless chickens on twitter are already acting like he's gone. (Also, media, being the only team to bid doesn't count as "winning the race" to sign him)

Colin's always said he'll at least wait until January, ad Snoddy has said as much as well, nothing can force us to accept the bid.

Our Chief Executive normally comes out with a denial when we are linked with a player this strongly, so it will be interesting to see what he does this time.

Simon you seem to forget that Bates is still in charge and if this deal unravels, you can bet Snodds will be sold for cash to the highest bidder. Snodds can refuse to go of course, but if he does goe we'll all know that he doesn't fancy our chances of promotion ...

It says something when Leeds United best signing out of four is a thirty-something full-back. He'll do well, but he won't be the first name in your starting eleven.<ok>
