How many businessmen do you think there are firstly in a financial position to buy a club the size of Leeds and secondly, how many would be interested. Rangers in bonny Scotland were a perfect example, not too many interested in them. Interesting how many people are interested in a snippet about a gambling debt that appears in one of the daily rags. Certainly not enough to turn him away in my books anyway
Bill Miller, Blue Knights consortium , Club 9 Sports, Brian Kennedy (Sale Sharks owner), Bill Ng and a mystery German consortium all placed bids before Charles Green's consortium bought the club - it was only the scale of their debt that put people off
Exactly 5 million is all any were willing to put in. Big difference in 60 or 70 million for us plus the extra funds for rebuilding a team. Not many out there
How are you worth £60-70M - Without either ground or training ground your value has got to be £10M tops (baring in mind you have already spent £5M of future ST sales!!) What other assets have you got to justify that figure?
For a guy with his finger on the pulse in financial circles I would have thought you would have heard about goodwill TC. I think the price is what is delaying things here and potential buyers will know Bates is caught by the short and curlies as time passes. He will have to accept a much reduced price soon
We'll just let your team come up with all the negative ammo we need! As they say in lifts 'going down'
when were leicester owned by a gambling addict? you are much better informed than i am if youre right
Elmo - £50M is a lot of goodwill for a low-end Championship club don't you think? All these figures bounded about are purely speculative and I would imagine Bates would snap bite their hands off for anything near £20M
