No but his ban will be over quicker in the NPC so he can start playing sooner. Weds fans would quite happily accept doing that if it meant they got DJ as well. Id jump at that.
I thought it might, Brix, but Sooper pointed out it's an FA ban that covers all the leagues in England. The thinking is that if Barton goes to a Championship club with the higher number of games, his ban will be over sooner. Presumably, he'll stay there for sometime thereafter because otherwise there's nothing in it for the borrowing club - but I suppose could be back playing with us early next year...?
But even if his ban ends sooner we can't include him in our 25 anyway until Jan so what difference does it make? Is it to keep him match fit? He'd be playing for yet another club he doesn't give a **** about so I can imagine him picking another ban somewhere. Best to chuck him in the reserves. Better still, lock him up and throw away the key.
Uhhh Incorrect.....the point is that in the Championship they play more games, so his ban will be finished by November and then he can play in the later half of the year to get his fitness up ready for a return in January.
ah your the prick with all the itk, its ok putting these on but you can't back anything what you say, like the marquee signing who is it for fcuks sake is! oh you don't know becuase its just another made up story, your sad pal.
Ban still applies in England but by going to the Championship it will be finished sooner and he can come back in Jan match fit and ready to cover within the 25 man squad whilst some players are at ACoN.
whats in it for blakburn,,sheff wed ,forest or any of the other 25championship teams he will be linked with this week
If Mick Mccarthy takes charge this won't happen, after the whole scenario at the start of last season , Barton saying wolves really wanted him and mccarthy publically denying it.
We will probably be paying his wages, as they are doing us/him a favour and then they get him for 2 months November/December.
Can't see the point in this personally, would rather not cut our nose off to spite our face, (Joey would probably bite it off we asked nicely). We have 9 games scheduled in the Prem in August/Sept/Oct, add in League and FA cup fixtures and this might make the 3 other games needed, leaving Joey available to play for all of November and December where we have 11 Premier league games scheduled. If we don't name him in the 25 and **** him off on loan he will defo miss 20 Premier league matches, for the money we are paying him - **** that. I'd rather name him in the squad, make him train with the reserves for a month, then bring him back into the fold and get him fit for a Joey relaunch in November, hopefully he will then play brilliantly for the 11 games in November and December at which point we can then decide we love him again and he's one of the best midfielders in England, or more likely **** him off permanently in the form of a proper transfer for actual cash to a club that's stupid and desperate enough to sign him when the transfer window opens.
Could you imagine those two having a "difference of opinion" on the training ground! My money's on McCarthy. 10 times better than Haye and Chisora.
That's actually a very good point. With the 12 match ban I don't see how we could possibly justify including him in our August to January 25. So there's no way he'd be back before January anyway. The thinking must be to keep him match fit and ease the wage bill. Which would make good business sense. Plus, if they want to sell him on afterwards, then he's also been in the shop window.
