Here are the two big statements from the SPL release: "It was agreed that the SPL would work with the Scottish FA, SFL and Rangers to facilitate Rangers FC taking their place in SFL Division 3 this season. "It was agreed that Dundee FC would be invited to fill the space vacated by Rangers FC in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League."
Only in Scotland would a team going bust result in an extra promotion instead of a relegation reprieve Are they hoping the United-Dundee derby replaces the Old Firm or something? Exciting as it may be, it's not going to get the investors flooding back to the SPL...
It's the fact that they let it drag on for so long ... Said it loads of times, as soon as Rangers went into admin they should have had solutions to every possible scenario that allowed a Rangers in the SPL - with whatever puinishments deemed fit! Reagan and Doncaster must go...
No less than the cheating ****s deserve. I ****in hope scottish football does go tits up. Although with a slightly more level playing field, maybe not.
Are we so confident about life in the 3rd division that we don't feel any need to play friendlies? I know theres **** going on with us but surely we could get a few kickabouts organised. Our season could be starting in a few weeks and we've no kicked a ball in anger yet
Did "Rangers" not have a few organsied but they got cancelled? Now they know where they will be playing, I assume that they will now organise some games... 5 a side?
Aye we had a tour of Germany and a wee tournament down in Southampton organised but they got cancelled. New games should be getting organised though, the level of opposition doesn't really matter, just organise a few games against wee ****ty teams so the players can get some game time before the season starts
Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne has said he's willing to step in to help. So who's replacing Dundee in SFL1, and who's replacing that side in SFL2?
