modric replaced with sahin and joao would be very good business imo.

I still think we need a new winger though.... or is that asking too much alongside a new gk, two new cm's, bale signing, verthonghen, ade and a new striker? <laugh>

yeah that'd be two lovely signings! apparently we've cooled interest in moutinho due to the asking price? does anyone know any more?

Why did he have to come out of retirement?! <grr>

Agree with this though, we will be horribly light up front in January if he goes, and I don't want us signing another Saha.

I don't think we need to worry about getting cover for Benny though, unless we have a defensive injury crisis, Vert is very comfortable at left-back and there's also Rose/Gallas if not.

I think he has got another year left, I cant see Man Utd doing us any favours by releasing him. Also dont think he would start for us anyway so why leave Man Utds bench for ours.

You can't begrudge him ambition. He won two league titles with them, not like he joined them for the money.

No, i don't begrudge him wanting to win things, the same as when Teddy left.
What i do begrudge is the refusing to play to force through his transfer. Being picked up by AF (i don't recognised the 'S') from manchester airport (when no fee had been agreed) etc etc. Obviously AF has to take lots of the blame but it takes 2 to tango

completely agree, and I'm confident we'll sign what we need. I expect the deals are being worked on as we speak.

Don't forget we're got vertonghen as LB cover too <ok>

Personally I was more disgusted by Keane's departure to Pool, weeks after stating in an interview that he would never leave Spurs. This also undoubtedly played a huge role in Berbatov's desire to leave. We took Keane back, also we've signed the likes of Adebayor and Gallas in recent years, players who had done us immense harm in the past.

I never really accepted PSB back either. I'm clearly just a smaller/more bitter person than you :)

    I love Kaboom!
His and Defoe's departures were different though. They left due to the club's decision. They didn't engineer moves themselves or go back on their words etc etc

ARGH! Ok, i admit defeat. I have no logical reason for accepting some players back and not others. Lets just leave it with me saying i happily accepted the following back:
    Kaboom
    Defoe
    Teddy

    But not the following:
    Keane
    Berba (if it happened)
    Chimbomba

Now, everyone stop picking on me! :)

    Yep, Crouch is ok too.

Maybe i can come up with a reason to do with whether they were 1st choice starters when they left? Hmmmm
