By refusing to condemn the singing of Dirty Orange Bastard, and by telling me that you don't believe it is sectarian, you are complicite in Celtic fans bigotry.

Here we go again:

I condemn Rangers fans singing sectarian songs.

QUOTE]

Does that include the famine song? A Simple Yes or No.

Yes, and it's the last ****ing time I do so <laugh>

Do you condemn Celtic fans bigotry when singing DOB?

Yes, and it's the last ****ing time I do so <laugh>

Do you condemn Celtic fans bigotry when singing DOB?

Personally yes, I find it offensive and distasteful same as IRA Chants. Would I ban people singing about the IRA from Parkhead? Yes.

Do I dance around the issue and attempt to displace the blame elsewhere? No.

Celtic have a problem with a minority of fans, we call the "Green Brigade", there are about 200 or so of them, in the main they are teenagers so in a way their behaviour is understandable because they are naive and immature with little experience in life.

Are the representative of the Celtic fanbase as a whole? Can their songs be clearly heard every time Celtic play? No

When the Green Brigade are in the frame do i resort to ****ing insulting whataboutery to defelct from their actions? No.

That's the difference between Celtic fans and Rangers fans in my opinion, i'm not arguing which songs/chants are more offensive, all i'm saying is that Rangers fans can either sing much louder than the GB's 200 or so members or there are far more than 200 of them singing.

Dev, I'm not disagreeing with that at all. Rangers have a bigger problem with sectarian singing. I accept that, and that it has to change.

Will Rebelbhoy dolike wise and condemn the singing of the offensive DOB song or Wattie Smith SOB song?

Don't hold your breath.

That's why I believe that he's a hypocrite, and anyone who would visit this thread would say the same IMO.

Condemn the Rangers fans for sectarian singing, but DOB could mean a whole manner of things, when we all know what is really meant.

He hasn't condemned racism and sectarianism though. Only the singing of them which he has already conceded is only a move to stop Rangers getting punished. Placing the word racist in quotation marks when discussing the famine song reveals his motivation (in my opinion). Unless he wants to tell us differently

Either he condemns racism and sectarianism or he doesn't.

On your points about singing Walter Smith is a sad orange bastard, I am not trying to get out of it on a technicality.

I can adopt the same watery position as Edge. i condemn the singing of it.

I'll never agree with you on the Republican songs but I am absolutely comfortable with accepting your view.

Well refute my arguments Edge?

Edge, the moment you started copy and pasting Reb's comments out of context was the moment you lost this argument.

Or perhaps call me a hypocrite and a bigot without providing anything to support it.

I don't think Edge is a bigot. Not in the slightest.
I do know he is a liar and a bluffer.

If I was a hypocrite about any of this, i would expect some sort of evidence to back it up.

the OO is a difficult one. If someone says they don't like the Orange Order, does that automatically make them sectarian? The answer has to be no. they are quasi-religious, quasi-political and cover a whole number of denominations. They do not reflect a single "belief" at all. That said, I am in no doubt that singing disparaging songs about them can create an environment where sectarianism is acceptable.

Edge, the moment you started copy and pasting Reb's comments out of context was the moment you lost this argument.

I never posted them out of context.

Rebel said that you shouldn't stereotype people on the "Ninja thread" (which I agreed with), yet he stereotypes Rangers fans.

He's said on this thread that Rangers fans are Sectarian racist bigots.

He's calling me, my family, my friends and colleagues sectarian racist bigots.

He condemns ALL sectarian singing, yet refuses to condemn Celtic fans sectarian singing.

I haven't lost the argument. <ok>

<doh>

Is Walter Smith an Orangeman?

Is Ian Brines an Orangeman?

The phrase Orange Bastard originates from NI, and is used as a derogatory term for someone of the Protestant faith.

It is in no doubt that the term is sectarian, and if I could be arsed, I'm sure that I could find someone who's been charged and found guilty with sectarian aggrevation by using this term.

Off you pop <ok>

I never copy and pasted either, I just posted what he meant.
