Andy Carroll: Liverpool reject Newcastle loan offer http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18850955 Only the headline is worth reading though; rest of it is regurgitated drivel..
Might as well just buy out Ba's release clause and keep Carroll. Big Andy ain't going nowhere, this is just Rodgers lighting a fire under his arse. Besides what he actually said in that conference has been twisted, it's all BS.
100% agree but its been three or four days worth of stories now so it does concern me that no one has come out and squashed the rumours.
is your name Mancini? or are you celebrating the City manager because he got one over your bitter rivals? As for Andy Carrol..liverpool seem desperate to come away with some face in this but no matter how you look at it..the A.Carrol deal has been an embarassment which has cost the club far too much..and was one of the prime reasons KD was sacked.
Would be really bad business for us if we gave them 35 and then loaned him to them with the view for a deal probably around 15 mill. Its not great to sell to rivals either. Not sure what to think about Andy staying or going. Right bid then i'd accept. Hurry up Milan!
Well I hope you feel proud of yourself now! Back to Carroll, think the only way we can come out of this without looking stupid is to keep him and hope for the next few seasons he scored 10-15 goals a season. Still won't be worth all the money but if he gets a few goals and we get back into the Champions League then I won't be complaining. Let's be honest we'll all move on from his price tag the next time big money is spent on a player who then flops. First it was Veron, then Shevchenko now Torres & Carroll.
exactly it is embarrassing to almost admit that you screwed up that deal..and you dont want to go there again having done the same kind of U turn with Keane not too long ago. im not wumming so hope nobody thinks i am.
I presume this deal is ba plus cayabe plus tiote for carroll... on loan.. I mean we've got hamann in the past form newkie and then enrique so i guess one has to flop sometime... newcastle will prob want us to pay 75% of his wages as well i assume
I would actually be quite sad if Andy leaves and a bit pissed off, Rodgers can at least give the kid a chance, if by January he has not done enough, then would be the time to go on loan. Rodgers has been having his honeymoon period, but this would be his first bad move in my eyes. He can at least play in the Europa leagus, Carling Cup or come of the bench if the Tiki Taka is going tits up. Must stay. (till Jan at least)
£18M or so + or piss off. We can either keep him or make a chunk of money back. Put it this way, we sell Carroll and buy... say, two summer targets like Ramirez and Afellay. I'm happy with that.
Well it's been "rejected", but weren't Liverpool in a similar situation with Robbie Keane and Spurs? I don't really care if he comes back though to be fair, there are better strikers out there for much less money, and we finally have a scout who can find them. It was a bit of cheeky offer to make, to be honest. If I was Henry I'd be fuming, and the "rejection" would have contained some fittingly colourful language!!!
Its that bloody price tag. What utter fool decided to part with that amount? He's too expensive to be a bit part player/plan B. He either plays or goes. Everyone knew this was a problem that would have to be dealt with at some point. Thought Andy might kick on, but deep down knew he's doesnt fit the system. Rodgers needs to be happy with what he was to suceed, so i'll go along with whatever he decides to do.
If Rodgers does not want him, sell him for £15million (what we should have payed). Would be amazing for a Stoke type team. At least then we can use that cash to improve our squad. What's the point in letting him play for another side for free. BS.
