Just seeing if I can post this so that you can see the LIVE video of the Torch Relay. If not, at least here's the link.

Shame about the weather still huge crowds on the island. Question is was Fran there?

There was a bit of a media hoo-ha today as the Olympic Torch went out in Devon. The helpers were scurrying around in a mild panic, while the onlookers watched patiently. They then fetched one of the backup flames out of the following coach and lit a new torch before proceeding. So THE Olympic flame didn't go out, but AN Olympic Torch went out. Not that I care too much, but why must the media misreport..?

But that's the media for you. Letting the facts get in the way of a good story would be a major No No. ;)

It was a unique thing to experience, I enjoyed the event immensely, will never see it again. I just don't understand the attitude of some of the whingers, the Echo site is full of them. If they don't like it just ignor it and go away.

We estimated 100,000people saw it in Southampton not including he ground and the evening celebration at Mayflower. Will Pompey manage to equal that.

Just watched it off at the airport. Can't believe the number of people up and about in Southampton at 6am on a Sunday!

Oh my great aunt, you have got to be joking. You're even going on about 'attendances' for the Olympic Torch relay in a thread that's nothing to do with Portsmouth. Unbelievable. Well, it is believable but still ridiculous.

It certainly has bought out alot in people - there was a torchbearer on the hythe ferry on the way home yesterday, and the atmosphere was electric and everyone had their photos done etc

Certainly a popular thing that's for sure, if that's the reaction for an unlit torch!
