Spurs had Crouch in the team that got them into the CL. In that side, they played long balls and passing football at the same time.

If Crouch can play ****ing passing football, Carroll can!!

Have more ****ing faith, and stop thinking that Carroll is only good for one thing!!

Not going to happen. Liverpool aren't likely to sanction a loan deal to one of their closest rivals and a better team are they. Not even they are that stupid. They surely wont subsidise his wages either, I doubt we'd be willing to take on a high percentage of Carroll's 80k a week.

Not sure what to think about this, undoubtedly good for us when he was here but I don't see how he fits in now, unless he's willing to be a bench man. Feels like a step back, we've shown to be a better team without him, attracts a lot of unneccessary media attention and there's the Taylor and broken jaw history too. That said he performs best when his heart is in it and despite being misused at Liverpool it was clear to anyone that his heart wasn't it for them anywhere near as much as it was for us.

Surprised Rodgers wants to get rid before offering him a chance and a clean slate though.

Remember what I said the other day about the sell on clause..if it exists it would sway things in our favour.

Spot on. We were 3rd in the premier league in terms of long balls played.

But I'm also sceptical of this happening, can't see FSG agreeing to it.

    XD

Oh I forgot about that for a second.

    25% sell on clause.

So if we buy for 10m, we automatically get 2.5m back

hahaahahahhahahaaha I just pissed my self laughing.

I'm not sure I follow the argument that we don.t want him because Ba and Cisse are better.

What is the downside of having 3 first rate strikers ? We are in 4 competitions, people get injured, and there's the ACON. I wouldn't want to deny Ba playing time to accomodate Andy, but I can't see that being a problem. 50 - 60 games in 43 weeks is plenty to go round.

    <ok>

Carroll would be a great signing IMO. And he can make up for whatever supposedly bad things he did, by scoring goals.

Not sure this is a good move, as Ba and Cisse are better than him.

    I understand peoples mixed feelings.

I'm just sick of hearing the "omfg Carroll signing means the end of our passing football".

Na, like I said on the thread on Mackem board, I agree with you that he gives us a different dimension. Can totally see why signing him can work. But needs to win me over if it comes off.
