  1. I'd swap Demba Ba and Piqiounne for Lover and Shola.

Same if I'm being honest. Although Piqi is getting old. He's 33 if I'm right?

I wouldn't mind Elmander as back-up. Better than what we have(not including Best) currently.

Elmander on a free. Sell Lover/Shola. Decent piece of business right there.

  3. I'd take Elmander for free if he'd play for 20k a week or else the **** can **** off.

Bit of a fan of Best lately, but it still annoys the hell out of me the amount of times he gets offside every game he plays, just if he timed his runs better he may even bag a few more, or set more up.

I really do like Best. Not afraid to say I'd written him off last season/start of this but he's proved me wrong. Hard worker, decent finisher and has a good presence.

I enjoy Leon Best thoroughly. He has everything you want in a striker and he seems to get along wonderously with the rest of the team

Agree with you too an extent, sometimes he makes his runs slightly too early as he seems eager but I also don't think we play the ball quickly enough through for him. We always seem to want 5/6 touches on it before playing it through, most strikers would be offside.

As for Best I can proudly say that I never wrote him off. I didn't think he would be as good as he has been but I also knew we hadn't given him a chance. Our best striker and hopefully once he returns from injury will start banging the goals in (probably next season)

Defo Best as first choice next season, if we play 2 up front. If we play a 4-5-1, then I don't think he is strong enough to play on his own.

  9. I hope he's 2nd choice, because even though Best is a good striker, we should aim for better with the money we now have.

I mean as one of the first choices playing 2 up front, but second choice playing one up front.

  11. Well Pardew has said he wants to play Ben Arfa behind a lone striker next season, and he's thinking about Carlton Cole.... <doh>

I'd have Ba in a heart beat... but Cole?

    Where has Pardew said that?

I know you love Ba, but there's no way Wham will sell, he is their only threat up front.

I was reading this thread in amazement that nobody was saying this! Now, don't get me wrong, I think the lad has done alright recently. But in his first few games for us i've never seen a player with less understanding of the offside rule - 'Hold your run, Man!'

I don't think he is a player that is going to set the Premiership alight, but i'm happy having him on the books.
