He is on the wind-up. Martinez is the reason Swansea are successful. And Rooney has scored a lot more premier league goals than Suarez (despite the fact that Suarez has had one season and missed 8 games) Poor.
Shush... I know he is on the wind-up, been at it most of the day and its seemed to have kept going after I left too
Any manager who has ever managed has inherited a team. So it is a totally baseless argument. We interviewed Martinez and choose Rodgers. Enough said.
So, foundations matter in one instance but not the other? The way I see it, Martinez and Sousa wasn't able to get Swansea out of the Championship but Rodgers was. Quite a few clubs have been after Martinez after helping Wigan survive in the Premier League for a couple of seasons, Brendon got his Swansea side to mid-table at the first attempt. Where's Sousa nowadays?
Yea, I've seen him at it, took me a few weeks to work him out. I thought he might have just been a bit deluded at first. I think he might be a Manc. Although he won't admit to that.
Got to admit, on my first couple of encounters with him I thought he was genuine too, but you soon pick up all the negative vibes aimed at our beloved club
I am not on the wind up, never have, never will. Sir Alex Ferguson inherited a Manchester United that was a shadow of it's former self, not unlike LFC today. It took him 4/5 years before he had any real success. He was given that time because he proved with Aberdeen that he could turn history on it's head. As I have said before, Rodgers is a very good prospect, but he does not have the track record to fall back on, and when the one step forward/two steps back starts to kick in, LFC's Fans will be screaming to get rid of this 'out of his depth novice' from Swansea. That isn't a criticism either, you should expect more. You are Liverpool Football Club.
Pure speculation, he will get a fair chance, if he fails, he will be replaced. Same as at any serious club in the world. Would rather Rodgers than a Cappelo type any day of the week.
Fashion and music were all different twenty-five years ago too, should I pull out my flares and start discoing like its 1986 until it comes back in too...? Edit: times change, but up until recent times, Liverpool Football Club have always given their managers time. only the last two didn't get time - one was shockingly bad and the other was only ever a stop gap to steady a rocking ship, the owners took the opportunity to alter things without the fans getting on their back as much as they would have done any other time.
Stockport just down the road from Manchester. Aged about 40, grew up during Liverpool dominance. =Bitter Manc
Right, hold on. You would rather have Brendan Rodgers than Fabio Cappelo and Suarez rather than Rooney.
Abso-fricking-lutely! The Suarez v Rooney is not as straight forward for me but most clubs wouldn't swap their star players for someone elses. Both players are quality but not quite world class and both have their baggage too. Would I rather have a biter/accused racist or a granny/prostitue shagging bigot? Hmmm...tough call
