Another one last example Mabon, of your inept FAW! Went to purchase tickets for the Wales game at the Liberty some time, back in 2008, asked for my usual seats when watching the Swans, (West Stand, just behind the Swans Dugout, lower tier) was told the whole section was reserved for the FAW? ok fair enough as close as possible please was my reply, got my tickets and went to the game, only to find that the section I wanted to sit in was empty all game! Needless to say I ignored all FAW signs and sat there after 10 minutes into the dire game, with just 6000 in attendance, and all the FAW could do is blame the Swansea fans! They are useless in organising, and need to move with the times............... <ok>

dragon i am not a big fan of them either, as you know they are mostly cardiff season ticket holders, my reason is they are all we have between us and oblivion, it needs a big shake up from the floor to the ceiling

It has come into force from the beginning of the last season, I believe it was to ensure that the club can play in the premier league

I've looked at that and the htc x and they are inferior, I am waiting for the iphone5 to come out as android phones don't have tomtom on them and I cannot justify spending hundreds on apps I already own.

No they've got better Satnav, such as CoPilot Live, and iGO! And I didn't pay a penny for them either! Android has the flexibility and customisation, it's where the smart money is going! Samsung have out sold iphone 2011, and 2012, S2 8 Million sales, Gallaxy S3 9 Million sales, iphone 4s 4 Million Sales!! Need I say any more!....................... <cheers>

Co pilot is pants on android my wife has it for her job, not impressed by it at all , and besides I have already paid for tomtom plus other apps that I need. Also I would need a different setup for my vehicle and after spending a small fortune on the iPhone holder & cabling I can't justify the change.

Besides that as I am just about purchasing a mac as well I think I'm sticking with apple, it suits my use and the integration is second to none.

Thanks for the input chaps. It wasn't a 'concept' as such, just a debating point. Whilst I acknowledge a merger would probably never happen I can still see major advantages to be honest - the main one being the abolition of the completely useless FAW. We could still be immensely proud as a nation supporting our Welsh players and I think that had we had such an arrangement a while back a combined England & Wales team might have actually won something. To me that's everything. Winners are grinners after all.

Some object on the grounds of the FA not "looking after" Welsh talent but it would be in their interests to do that if they want a successful team, and my first hand experience of the FAW is that they don't look after their young players anyway. Not even close. I'm sure others have had similar experiences. Others object on the basis of anti-English sentiment and national pride. Whilst I understand that I think it's misplaced here and a merger would be for the greater good. (OK I know I'm in a huge minority). But as valley has pointed out we're happy to play the 'English game' by playing in the Prem because it suits us and who on earth would want to change that? Seems we're having our cake and eating it to me.

As this won't happen in the near future I expect the FAW to continue to be run by old men in grey suits who just don't have a clue, Wales to probably never qualify for a major competition and England to perennially under perform.

They are run by similar kinds of people, they should be run in the background and not really visible like other regulators in other businesses, for example BT runs their own business as they see fit, but oftel is supposed to ensure things are run correctly so the oversight is there.

But these federations are run like personal fiefdoms, the likes of platini and Blatter are abhorrent people who only look at themselves in running these federations. If I was to ask who the head of oftel was would anyone know without looking on google ? how about the head of darts or snooker? Or any a number of sports ?

I think these federations should be run by fans of the game together with ex players and managers of the game. The thinking of that is without fans there would be no football, the fans are completely disassociated from the game they actually fund.
