I'd have to disagree on him being way ahead of Santon and think you may be underestimating just how good Santon is.

I really like Debuchy. I watch a bit of French football now and again and he has always impressed me. Highly thought of in France too. Superb going forward in particular and solid enough in defence. Does have his moments getting caught up the pitch as he did in the Euros, but that is the nature of attacking full backs. Also versatile like Santon (I'm sure I've seen him fill in on the left too and play in central midfield)

I just prefer Santon. There is something about this lad that just oozes class. That he was excellent for us in secondary position says it all really, he'll improve again this year. Difficult to seperate for me in terms of ability but I think Santon has more potential due to his age.

I certainly don't underrate Santon, I see a lot of class there, great on the ball with his head up, and more than adequate at the back.

Mourinho said he could go on to be one of the worlds best as a teen, that's praise indeed, Italy caps at RB in his teens, when Zambrotta was still of some ability, is no mean achievement.

I just think, at the moment at least, Debuchy is the more natural of the 2, could easily just be an age and experience thing, but as mentioned I clocked Debuchy 2 years back at the start of Lille's double winning season, and have rarely been disappointed in him since.

On the downside, I always buy him on Fifa, and for 13 he will have that annoying 'this ****er just moved clubs' tag,so I guess i'll buy Santon (who I used to buy of Inter purely for the yellow Mercurials, which weren't an edit option at the time!).

Obviously, this has no bearing on the real world...

Could be a great signing on your part. Was hoping we would go in for him but we never showed the intent... Hoping we get Azpilicueta now as he also seems class though rumours are saying we are close to signing Maicon. Anyway it's good to see the way your club are approaching the transfer market. Sensible transfers. ****ing annoying though as my Geordie mates are getting a bit lippy but it's all good banter! All the best next season.
