£2.4m for the south korean guy, £1m on velokonja, £2m on mutch, our owners mean business this season, we're comfortably the most ambitious club in the division now, we're even outspending many clubs in the PL.

though i dont agree with the red shirt, one thing i applaud the owners for is that they are putting big money into this venture.......money is no guarantee of success but it certainly helps!......<cheers>

    Hi SKM.
Yes indeed, and this is surely putting an end to the oppotunities for some of our visitors to suggest that VT is here for a quick hit. For me, all promises have been honoured or are in the process of being honoured.

I know you have an issue with the red shirt, but for me it is a clear demonstration of a brave new ethos at the club - a club building for a new and exciting era. A club looking forward and not dwelling in the past.

Real and sustainable ambition at last.

Never doubted it for a second Clingo, and agree that VT is in for the long haul and backing the clubs ambition.

Exciting times ahead I think! <cheers>

Agree with the above... nice to be looking forward rather than over the shoulder for the tax man <ok> Redgate is a non-issue for me... its the results and points on the board that count. <ok>
I'm not sure if the Kim-bo deal has gone through yet and although 3.4m on two relatively unknowns seems quite a lot (?), If Malky thinks they're worth it then who am I to argue...He's far better qualified than me.

Whilst I agree that the club is showing ambition I always get irritated when people suddenly start quoting how much players cost.
Much : 2 million. all reports said "Undisclosed fee" so where does 2 mil come from? The only figures I saw were 1.2 and 1.8 million, and niether of those had a reliable source.
Velokonja: 1 million. The only quoted price I have seen was 800,000.
The Korean 2.4 million. The figure he turned down from Monaco was 4.5 mil, but as I and others said elsewhere that was more about the military service than cost. The reports linking him to City I have read quote 3 million.
Now I know the overall spend is more or less the same but lets try to be accurate. :)
Unless of course anyone has a source beyond reproach? <whistle>
Maybe the same source knows about Belamy. If he is released by Liverpool instead of the 2 million being bantered about, that's half his reported wages sorted. lol

A good read and the words of an idealist. I am a realist and the reality is any business that does not grow and look at other income streams will go out of business. He has found what he wants as a supporter by following Worcester City, Rossington Main and Doncaster Belles, good for him. But they will eventually do what every business needs to do to survive and he will find himself with the same dilemma, maybe not in the next season or two but eventually. It's a fact all clubs and businesses need to change with the times to maintain and improve their status and viability.

Was a decent read and well written. As taff says he has found what he wants. I like watching the highest level of football I can. I enjoy seeing the game played at it's highest level. I watch the PL, CL and always get really excited about the Euro's and WC because I get to see the best players in the world playing for the most important trophies. That in turn can (not always) lead to the sport being played at it's absolute best. The championship offers a level of football on a different planet to the semi pro leagues. All 3 promoted teams staying up demonstrates it's not far behind the Premier league in terms of quality. I like that. I like the fact the championship has players like Whits who can do things only a handful of people can.

I don't need to feel appreciated for turning up by my club. My reward is being entertained, watching brilliant players week in week out. I never watch the Champioship and wonder if I could do a bit better myself, the Newport matches I have been to do sort of leave you wondering that at times (I know I couldn't actually).........
I think back to our QF against Blackburn, pretty much a full house the CCS absolutely bouncing, great banter with the away fans, and a deserved win for the Bluebirds. I wonder how many nights like that Worcester have a season?
