He is number 29(his lucky number, the date of his birth also)- not 6 as the article suggests. Should be a decent signing, would just like to know the costs as for £8million its very good business but £12 million seems a little OTT. Haven't seen much of him, but Roma fans didn't want him to leave and Rodgers obviously rates him

Firstly, it probably just a top that was passed to him for photograph purposes whilst he was doing his medical. Secondly, it is just a number. It is the quality of player inside the shirt that matters
Not seen too much of him playing in Italy for Roma but after reading a bit about him, it sounds like a good signing for us! Looking forward to seeing the lad play. Did very well under Rodgers when he was on loan at Swansea (6 goals in 12 games) and helped Swansea get up into the Premier League. He then moved back to Italy with Roma and had an excellent season. Stats are pretty decent with 26 appearances (20 of those games he started) and 10 goals. Nearly a 1 in 2 strike rate in Italy is certainly very good. Can play across the forward line which increases our attacking options. talkSPORT said tonight that they believe the fee to be just under £8M. Which would be an excellent fee to pay for a lad with a lot of promise. All in all, pretty happy with the signing of Borini!
-------------Reina--------------- --Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique-- ------------Lucas--------------- ----Henderson----Gerrard-------- -----------Suarez--------------- -----Borini--------Carroll--------- or maybe, -------------Reina------------- -Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique- -----------Lucas-------------- ---Aquilani--Gerrard---Downing- ----------Suarez-------------- ----------Borini---------------
I would stick with: Reina Johnson, Skirtel, Agger, Johnson Lucas Gerrard Henderson Borini Suarez Carroll or, 4-4-1-1 Same back 4 Borini, Gerrard, Lucas, Downing Suarez Carroll (obviously Spearing or Adams will over for Lucas while he recovers fully)
We need to ship out a bit of the dead wood, and those that are ageing/injury prone and address the situation on the left and perhaps another playmaking defensive midfielder. Not quite the time to stick. Out Downing Adam Cole In Two or three more....This all depends what is going on with Aqua, Gerrard is likely to get injured and Lucas is recovering so next stop should be a top quality midfielder (Joe Allen would do but unlikely) and a tricky left sided player. Don't see the point of loaning Carroll, but will just have to assume Rodgers has a plan.
Cole, wouldn't be fussed if he went, especially with his high wages Downing, i think he deserves another season. He started really well and I just imagine if that shot that hit the bar v sunderland in his first game after baeting 2 or 3 players had gone in how different his season could have been. Let's be honest, if we sell, we aren't going to make a profit and he can't have worse stats than last season so what's the harm in keeping him for 1 more? Adam is a strange one. He looked good with Lucas in midfield as he didn't have to worry about tackling and doing the defensive work so could be more effective going forward. Think everyone can see his form dipped dramatically when him and Gerrard played together as neither track runner. I think it just depends if he can adapt to Rodger's football of movement and pressing which I think he may struggle with. If he was to go i'd hope we could get at least £6-8mil for him.
Would not be too fused if they all stay to be honest, as long as it does not mean anyone else can come in. If this is the case, these are the ones I would sacrafice, Bellamy and Maxi I would shed no tears over either, but they are both good players and will be able to offer something.
Or, just to change your first one slightly: -------------Reina--------------- --Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique-- ------------Lucas--------------- ----Henderson----Gerrard-------- --Borini-----------------Suarez-- -----------Carroll---------------

My understanding in that formation would be as the ball heads up either wing, the opposite winger would be up front with Carroll.
Zlatan is hardly The Flash, but he can still make it forward with his wingers. With Carroll's left foot, his partner up front can lay it off and let him have a crack from distance.
