Just a reminder what beautiful beaches we're lucky enough to have in Sunderland

Still warm and a bit sunny when got home from work, so just been out walking - through Roker Park, onto beach to cat & dog steps then up to Seaburn & back

Just me, MP3 player, a bit of sun and no rain

    Absolutely glorious

    Aye sorry mate.
Can't see any chippies or amusement arcades in that pic.
Also no sea wall to protect you from the wind and rain.

Never mind you can always look forward to wearing your mac and joining us on your return. <ok>

Half an hour chucking pebbles into the sea is as good as a 10 mile hike. :p

I love our beaches and even ventured in for a swim a couple of times at the Cat and Dogs in May..Sadly it has rained nearly every day since then so I haven't been down lately..

My word -how brave are you?
Last time I had my niece down she had us jumping over waves & that was bad enough
Ended up soaking wet with frozen feet

Thanks for that Syd:emoticon-0103-cool:I live down Wakefield and am feeling just a little home sick now! Was up and running in the 10K and when you turn at the cat and dog steps to face the sea with that breeze you feel on top of the world. Best beach in the country bar none imho. Remember the new years days spent walking at 45 degrees to clear the cobwebs and early spring when you are pretty much on your own.

Its funny how that morning walk in the cold always made the new year start a little happier, cleared the mind of all the crap and left you feeling that just being alive was enough.
