I just don't get the whole Exorcist or Shinning thing. And as for The Grudge, comedy with a pretty lady star......

Guess i'm more of a hack and gore person when it comes to horror though.

Two days that brought in two greats coming up.

    14th
1961 - Sunderland broke their transfer record to secure the signing of centre forward Brian Clough from Middlesbrough for £48,000

    15th
1997 - Striker Kevin Phillips signed from Watford for £525,000. He made an imediate impact by scoring a post WW2 record 35 goals in his first season.

    ..............................................

Two of our best players ever?

Regarding scariest films, I quite liked The Exorcist, but thought The Omen was better..

As a genre I find them terribly cliched and quite frankly boring.

Did you know we already have a Spaniard at the club?

Must be good cos he's a Spaniard and everyone of them are **** hot at footy......apparently.

Young midfielder Alex Gorrin is hoping to make a name for himself over the course of the new season.

The Spanish midfielder, who hails from Tenerife, is entering his second season as a professional at Sunderland having come through the club's youth system.

Gorrin left his homeland in 2009 to begin a two-year scholarship with the club before moving into the development squad.

He featured 11 times for the second string last season, playing an increasingly major role as more senior figures departed on loan.

Now the passing midfielder is looking forward to once again linking up with Kevin Ball, his coach for two seasons in the youth team.

"Hopefully I can play as many games as possible and get some more experience under my belt, then see what happens," said Gorrin, who turns 19 next month.

"I'm looking forward to working with Kevin Ball again. Obviously I know him from the youth team and he is a good coach.

"I think I will benefit from working with him. I know how he works and that will make things easier."

Last season saw a number of reserve-team players leave on loan, including the likes of Louis Laing, Billy Knott and Blair Adams.

And while Gorrin says he would be open to treading a similar path, he says he has to develop his game first.

"That would be something that would interest me but first I have to be an important player in the reserves," he said.

"Pre-season has been hard so far but you need that to be fit and ready for the season.

"We are all looking forward to the friendlies which are more about getting fit and ready than the results."
