.. at risk of stirring it further I would much prefer Chester (who looks to have real potential to step up in the Prem) to Kilgallon or Gerrad who don't ... in fact would marginally prefer NP to dust his old boots off and get on there .. LOL

It's not really stirring it any more, I think you're all well aware that Chester won't be playing for you next season, even if you won't admit it.

None of us said he would. Im sure you just like us fully expect a bid to be made by us and we all expect that to be rejected

I think it's more of a case that Hull fans hope it will be rejected and fear it being accepted.

They've built themselves up for a fall, IF it's accepted then I bet we won't see another Hull fan ever on here again <laugh>

Chester would be a good signing and it is obvious that NP is interested. Dont think anyone believes it will happen, but he is the foremost plaayer from Hull who would get in our side. Mind you, I thought Matt Mills was an amazing signing despite te fee. Shows how much I know.

He is injured til around Christmas so its a non starter. It would be interesting to see if we threw in any clauses like sell on fees with Hobbs because if we have and did go in for him we would get a discount

Like proud said he's injured at the mo. It was thought he'd be out till Christmas but according to the medical staff he's making a remarkable recovery so ought to be back earlier.

I'd be gutted if we lost either Chester or hobbs as I think they've formed a very good partnership.

As to how I would feel if you came in for him? Well that's football, good players are always going to be courted so why get worked up about it?

If its another derisory offer no doubt it will get treated accordingly

Hobbs was a great young CB who was always improving and you only have to read old posts to see what we thought of him- future england captain some said. Sousa tried to make him do silly things and wrecked his confidence, and sven wanted big names which Hobbs wasnt, and he declined from there. Id take him back in an instant, loved the lad.

You never know what clauses if any we put in. I reckon there will at least be a sell on clause

Hobbs is a very good defender and someone i didnt want Sven to get rid of. Carlos Tevez who was the best striker in the country at that moment destroyed Hobbs and since then Sven just discarded him and get playing Ben Mee who isnt as good as Hobbs.

Sousa tried to get us playing real football by getting the ball down and trying to pass teams off the park. We was playing well under Paulo but we couldnt defend and didnt look like scoring

Jack Hobbs and Paulo Sousa had a massive bust up at Norwich and Sousa was sacked the next day

He effectively tried to make Hobbs pass. Not like normal CB passing, but like Pirlo. Hobbs was rock solid, and destroyed his game.

Proud, are you indicating that your boys are thinking of making a bid? You tease!

I was surprised you let hobbs go. At the time I thought he was a very good prospect and i think he's getting better. No shame in being destroyed by tevez like you say

I think had Hobbs not been injured Nigel would have been after him instead of Chester. I think Hobbs would come back if he had the chance

Hmm interesting. Couldn't say where he'd rather be if given the chance myself. But it sounds like we're kind of lucky he's out at the mo then if you're right

As far as I'm aware, the only players we have with sell-on clauses are the lads from Man United and Jay Simpson.

Chester and Hobbs work very well as a partnership, but as individual players, Chester is in a different class.

All the Man U players have buy back clauses aswell. Every young player they sell they insist they have a buy back clause
