Reagan and Doncaster should be sacked and, regardless of the vote, one governing body should be formed! It amazes me how the "powers" that be have managed to jump from one **** up to the next! As soon as the second biggest club in Scotland went into administration, the SPL should have made decisions on what would happen to Rangers i.e. 1) Rangers in admin, buyer found, go down CVA route. CVA is agreed then Rangers say in SPL. All footballing debt to be settled. 2) Rangers can't agree CVA and have to newco. Rangers apply for a licence and, if granted, stay in the SPL but with various restrictions/sanctions. All footballing debt of oldco to be settled as part of licence agreement. If newco don't accept restrictions/sanctions and to pay off all footballing debt then they must apply, like any other football club, to apply to join the SFL and start from the bottom. The restrictions/sanctions could have been agreed/voted by all member clubs. Any other separate issues could have been dealt during the period between admin and now i.e. BGT/EBTs etc However, 5 months on no one at the SPL/SFA have made a decision on what is to happen and they have made Scottish Football a laughing stock! They have put the onus on the clubs to make the decision - absolving themselves of blame? Reagan and Doncaster should be sacked for gross misconduct - no pay off/pensions!
They have made a right arse of it, also what the **** are they doing talking about impending doom and slow death at every ****ing turn? They are meant to encourage sponsership and such talk like this is not going to help and it is counter productive. Schoolchildren could do a better job!
Did either of them forecast Rangers going bust when it was fecking obvious? No. Why should anyone believe any of their financial "forecasts"? ****s couldnae see Rangers imploding when it was right in front of them but now you've to trust their armageddon numbers. Right, y'are.
The clubs should not be forced to make decisions. These pricks get a hefty salary for delegating responsibility.
It is evident that these two head bins are more interested in their own future rather than the future of the game in Scotland. They have made an important miscalculation in that they thought nothing had changed, that in Scotland what is good for Rangers is good for Scotland. No doubt the biased receiver of Rangers EBTs in the past Campbell Og would have schooled them in the old ways with Rangers/Scotland. It seemed quite likely that enough of the clubs hierarchies would have voted to keep Sevco in the SPL and preserved the bonuses of Doncaster and Regan, but the fans of the clubs said enough is enough and God knows how far Sevco will fall and no decent fan will worry. I think Campbell Og has pulled the puppets strings and he must go first followed by the two men who allegedly came in to clean up the Scottish game but instead has dragged it into the sewer with Sevco.
Ahead of the SFL meeting to be held at Hampden on Friday 13th July, Peterhead Football Club would like to clarify the board's stance on admitting a new Rangers Club into the Scottish Football League. We have now received proposals that have been thrashed out between the SFA, SPL and our own SFL a mere 36 hours prior to Friday's meeting. Whilst we have always stated that we would welcome proposals for league reconstruction independent of the Rangers crisis, we are left with a sense of wonderment at many of the newly proposed changes to the League; changes that were deemed wholly unworkable prior to Newco Rangers application to join the SFL after expulsion from the SPL. Although we are to come under severe pressure from bodies outwith the SFL to accept these fast-tracked changes to accomodate at Newco team and to hail this proposal as a 'blue print to safeguard the future of Scottish Football', we must retain our stance and those of the majority of our fans to vote NO. We still believe that to maintain fairness in our game and to restore faith in Scottish Football there is no alternative but to admit a Newco team into Division 3. We understand the ramifications of this as laid out by the SFA and understand that there will be financial implications for all clubs should this be the outcome. However, although there may be tough times ahead for Scottish Football, we believe we can weather the storm. Although football clubs from all leagues rely heavily on media revenue and sponsorship to survive, it is the fans that are the heart of the club. Our fans have made their feelings very clear over this issue and we have listened and taken on board all comments. We hope that voting to admit a Newco team into Division 3 will unite fans to vote with their feet to support their local team and help preserve our Scottish game.
Read somewhere that some of the SFL clubs have discussed calling for a vote of no confidence in messrs regan and doncaster at tomorrows meeting. Personaly would love to see that.
I agree but wonder what would result if such a vote carried - would it not require the SPL clubs to do the same in order for them to be sacked? http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/?p=9715
In the midst of this whole disgusting mess, I have been thoroughly impressed by the stance of many of our 'lesser' clubs. In stark contrast with the bag'o'fannies at the SPL and SFA, a group of small-club chairman have led the way. They know it's going to hurt them financially, but they also know that the only way forward is to admit Sevco into Div 3. This despite the outlandish and despicable bullying and bribery from those who are meant to lead our game. The statement from Clyde said it all: clear, concise and honourable. The bigwigs should hang their heads in shame. And when this is over, I agree, those shamed heads must roll. And roll on Black Friday 13th. You couldn't make it up.
its hard to keep in mind the ogilvie issue, it , like man others seems to have been rather conveniently forgotten at the moment.
If the EBT/double-contracts scandal isn't conveniently buried, now that 'Rangers and Newco have suffered enough' (cough, splutter!) perhaps Ogilvie will get his come-uppance,. However, it's looking increasingly likely that they may try to bury these other issues. If any football fans were unsure about the corruption involved , I would think they should now have no doubts whatsoever - they need look no further than the current disgusting attempts to ensure Newco gets put in the 1st division.
