Not like they have many people to pay for. Wouldn't surprise me if they players had to pay for themselves.

All we need now is to get them in the cup
And beat them 5-1 in their back yard.
Then draw a line under it all, ie don't
Waste your breath on them even again.
    Ha ha ha ha ha

It`s great days to be a Saints fan - I sometimes reflect though, on where we would be now if Markus hadn`t appeared at the eleventh hour, like manna from heaven. I miss the derbies too.

Do we all remember how Luton Town tumbled down and out of the leagues..? I think the same is going to happen. That's if Pompey actually get to the start line this season.

Obviously I feel for the genuine Pompey fans (but not any of them who consider us the scum of the earth, and would love to see Lambert break a leg or St Marys to be burnt down etc), but I don't feel sorry for the club at all. They deserve this.

They did wrong in the PL (and FA Cup), and were punished. But did they learn their lessons? Did they pay what they owed? Did they hell. Even in the darkest times, Appleton never stopped banging on about wanting the FL to allow them to sign players - he even said something along those lines the very day that they went into administration. It's like he just didn't get it, ever. No mate, your football club owes money to people - including money which was owed under a CVA. That money should first be repaid before you spent a penny on signing more players. Norries, Huselklepp, Varney. They should never have been allowed to step foot inside Fratton Park.

Now granted, that may not have left Pompey with 11 first-team players in the squad. But then that's what a youth academy can be for - it's not like club's in financial difficulties in the past haven't had to turn to them. God, our XI in the 08/09 resembled a kiddies creche at times! Play the kids. And if they're not good enough? Well, your fault, you trained them. And even more so in Pompey's case, having had years of PL income. It's one thing a L2 club having a bunch of kids who will never make it, but a side who had just spent nearly 10 straight years in the PL? If you'd rather spend that money on the first XI, rather than on kids or a stadium or training facilities, well your choice. But you live with the consequences. But in Pompey's case they didn't - instead they went and bought the likes of Norris and Varney. And that despite owing money to businesses and individuals left, right and centre.

Yes I blame the FL in this as well. They should have stepped in and stopped Pompey buying these guys. But ultimately it was Pompey who spent that money and bought those players, no-one forced them to. The buck stops with them, and some of their fans need to finally stop looking for other people to blame. Their club has done wrong, their club is being punished.

The fans who done nothing wrong in all of this, but neither have the players or the businesses to which Pompey owe money to. They entered into contracts, and they haven't been paid. Sorry fans, but Pompey can't get away with that - no matter how badly you want Kanu sacked, and suddenly see him as the new villian.

See that's the bit that pissed me off most. As you said in 08/09 we were playing the kids and had loaned out just about every senior player to try to save money. And that was before we went into administration, to try to stave it off. Portsmouth had the bare faced cheek to write off over £75 million of debt, then jumped straight back on the band wagon signing players on £30,000 a week.

He sure is - showed it last season by sprinting past all the skates giving them the "sssshhhhhh" gesture. Top banter.

Possibly not but I dont see what's clever about going "sssshhhh" to a rival group of fans or getting involved in a conversation that had sod all to do with him just to rile up people connect to a rival team. Personally, that strikes me as behaving like a jackass. In effect, Billy Sharp is doing nothing different from what SB3 has been doing on here for god knows how long and I doubt you lot think it was "top banter" when SB3 was doing it.
