It seems we've moved on and it will be Nick Proschwitz, rather than Emile Heskey, who will be partnering Fryatt next season.

For 2m according to Wiki (obviously it's not gospel).

But are you really that impressed with the signing?

    He's 25 and hasn't done much.

We know naff all about him, other than he's tall, he looks good on Youtube, he had a decent season in Bundesliga 2 last season and was had an amazing goal scoring record the season before in the Swiss top flight(along with playing in the Europa League) and there's at least one Bundesliga team after him.

It will be the first time we've spent £2m on a player since we were in the Premier League, so it's reasonably exciting(Bruce was looking at signing him for Sunderland, so he must think he's good enough to play top flight).

Have you just made that up?

I can't find anything about Bruce being interested while at Sunderland.

When you say 'Bundesliaga club' you mean SpVgg Greuther Fürth who will be enjoying their first Bundesliag season ever. Hardly a big club?

Plus according to this he's interested on going there. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11714/7876680/Proschwitz-keen-on-Furth-move

Do you think there's any chance you could post something to me that's not argumentative? (in case you haven't noticed, it's what I've been attempting to do recently)

I just told you we know naff all about him, it was Bruce who said he was tracking him since he was at Sunderland, I never suggested Greuther Fürth were a big club and he's with Bruce at our training camp in Portugal at the moment, so presumably he is at least a bit interested in signing for us.

German striker Nick Proschwitz heading to Portugal training camp to discuss move to Hull City .Thursday, July 12, 2012 Hull Daily Mail
Follow.HULL City are closing in on a £2m deal to land German striker Nick Proschwitz, the Mail can reveal.

The 25-year-old targetman was today flying out to the Tigers' training camp in Portugal where he will meet with manager Steve Bruce to discuss a move to the KC Stadium.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce, pictured during pre-season training in Portugal. German striker Nick Proschwitz is flying to the Tigers' training camp to discuss a move to the KC Stadium.
.The Mail understands a fee of around £2m will prize Proschwitz away from German club SC Paderborn but, as yet, personal terms are still to be finalised.

If City are able to convince the forward of their ambitions under Bruce, the transfer would set a new club record for a fee paid outside of the Premier League.

Bruce admitted his liking for Proschwitz upon his return to pre-season training last week, but City's interest is understood to have gathered pace in the last 48 hours.

SC Paderborn are unwilling to stand in the player's way if the money is right and have given the green light for City to begin negotiations today.

His agent, Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten, confirmed to the Mail that he and Proschwitz were today to fly from Berlin to Faro to meet Bruce and discuss a deal at City's training base on the outskirts of Portimao.

"There has been interest from a number of clubs, including a team in Bundesliga and the Austrian champions (Salzburg), as well as Hull City," he said.

"What we have agreed is that we will fly out to Portugal to meet Steve Bruce and discuss what they have to offer. Nothing has been decided.

"Obviously, the fact that we are flying out is an indication of our interest in what Hull have to say, though. We want to get a feeling of what Hull is like as a club, speak to Steve Bruce and their players to understand their ideas and their vision.

"Nick's current club are aware of the situation entirely and are happy for him to fly out and talk to Hull as they have done their preparation and it is a holiday week."

Bruce has been aware of Proschwitz's talents since he was manager of Sunderland and quickly earmarked the forward as a target when taking charge of the Tigers.

A successful season in the German second division with SC Paderborn saw him net 17 goals in 33 games last year and triggered interest from several clubs.

German outfit Furth, newly promoted to the top flight, have led the chase but Bruce hopes Proschwitz will instead opt for a move to England and add the desired muscle to his City attack.

After securing the services of goalkeepers Ben Amos and Eldin Jakupovic in the last seven days, Bruce has been keen to land a fresh attacking option to spice up a front line that netted just 47 goals in 46 games.

Standing at 6ft 3in, Proschwitz would offer an obvious aerial threat and provide a foil for Matty Fryatt, Aaron Mclean and Jay Simpson.

The intriguing move for Proschwitz would also underline the continued financial backing of Tigers owners Assem and Ehab Allam, something previously questioned by former boss Nick Barmby, leading to his abrupt sacking.

It would be the first time a transfer has tipped the £2m mark since City landed Stephen Hunt from Reading for £3.5m in August 2009.

I'm not being argumentative, just showing how you're manipulating facts.

All I did was spend 2 minutes researching him because like you say, we know naff all about him.

This just says Bruce was aware of him when at Sunderland. It doesn't say he was thinking of signing him.

    Yours,

    But manipulated <ok>

You made it out like he was some European hotshot whereas actually he's had a couple of decent seasons in a mickey mouse league and you're paying £2m for him <ok>
