Firstly, how do you know the same WILL happen with Baines? On what basis of absolute certainty do you have? I would say that for the most part professional footballers do not show this decline for another couple of years. So Shwan, you're saying Evra's been in decline for 3 years because he hasn't been at his peak since he was 28. Wouldn't it then make sense to bring in a PL proven LB at the top of his game while we wait for someone like Fabio to develop? I personally think Baines is the best LB in the league now that Evra and Cashley are past it. Whether or not we sign I won't be too bothered. If he signs, great. If he doesn't, cool beans.
