Part of the problems are the support and recovery processes OFH. A lot of companies (mine included) slim down their support organisations so much that sometimes when they have an IT problem they just don't know until the user community start to complain and by then things may have got out of control and very difficult to recover. This is what happend at Nat West, their initial problem was very small but it took so long to find and fix the amount of business data was huge and this is what took so long to recover. With more and more companies outsourcing and offshoring their support for very complex infrastructure and business processes, these things will continue. Thanks for the frothy AK - I used to work with a lot of fellas from Borehamwood, great bunch. Used to have some great nights in The Crown
I thought that only the inside of the hospital stuff of Holby City was filmed in Boreham Wood and the rest was filmed in either Bristol or Cardiff. I remember when I was at Uni and Casualty was filmed in Bristol, they were filming an episode with an ice hockey accident - they used the WNIR and all Cardiff Devils fans were invited to be the crowd. Unfortunately, I couldn't go as it was while I was in lectures.
Thanks for the coffee Ak - for your info the town Borehamwood is all one word but the football team call themselves Boreham Wood. Hi Dan Borehamwood is just off the A1 (next turn off after South Mymms). They not only film East Enders & Holby City, they also make Big Brother & Who wants to be a Millionaire. They have also made hundreds of well known films like :- All the Superman films, all the Star Wars films, Close Encounters of The third kind, All of the Hammer Horror films, The New Sherlock Holmes Films to name but a few.
That might be a very good call Aberdeen. He has connections through Stuart Pearce and Ian Woan as well as his brief history there....only trouble is, they are a team I love to dislike!
I had thought that. He has a good core of a squad and a similar budget (maybe more) and has the same staff with him. No reason why he shouldn't succeed.
hi Barry, no all of the external filming for Holby is Borehamwood, when they do the roof shots I can see my house. The only time they film in Bristol is when they do a special and combine the casts of Holby & Casualty.
Glad all is going well. Definitely can't wait til Tuesday, it's been way too long! Euros or not, this seems like the longest wait ever! But then..that's coz the season finished at the end of blinkin' April! Have a fantastic time Yorkie..sorry i missed the fond farewell but i hope it's wonderful! Didn't they film Eastenders there as well at one point or other? That's what i've been thinking, though as someone said, i suspect they'll want a big name..just like our new owners did Would be great for him and his team though! (but i agree with you, i love to dislike them too, it might be difficult if he got the job!) Very sad for their fans....i feel for them hugely...none of this is their fault..nor the team's for that matter..
Yeah, its been waaayyy too long. Dad and i are going to see what the weather is like before deciding whether to go as both of us will have been working and have to rush to get there. So dont want to be rushing if we are only going to be getting soaked. But i might see you there.
you know i'll be there, rain or shine! lol..hope to see you, otherwise i'll see you at one of the others
I thought you would like a photograph of the Ãsland u17 girls football team. There are some obvious oddities.
what a pretty bunch! (with the obvious exception!) If there was a market for long blonde hair they'd make a killing! lol
Some more inside information from my source, this time about training. They did quite a few tests i.e. sprinting, endurance etc. No surprise who won the endurance, Hogg by a longshot. Tumwa won the sprinting, he seems to be our fastest player. Not bad but, Zola is not going to focus on athletes, he wants technically gifted players. He let the players pass the ball around for 10 minutes, filmed it.... then afterwards they did the same and if the ball went off the ground they were running around the pitch. Needless to say the boys were pinging it around on the floor after not too long . Apparently training is "100 times better" with Zola, who joins in with the training.
AK - If eating rotten shark makes your hair grow like that, can you put me a couple of Kg's in the post. Cheers. Lux - Very interesting regarding the training.
Another sunny northern day. We had 15C earlier in the afternoon. The nights are getting longer the sun goes down at kl.23:57.
My hair is nearly as long and I do not like fish very much. Difficult if you live on an island. I go to have it cut shorter tomorrow.
