Positive news on demba

Positive as far as it goes.

He has shown no indication he wants to leave. He has also not agreed to stay.

I recall another striker who pledged undying loyalty 24 hours before the window closed but who wasn't there at the end of it.

Grounds for (very) cautious optimism.

 

I think Ba will be the main striker a lot because I doubt we'll often be playing Cisse and Ba together, due to rotation with the number of games we have.

So we can play Cisse one game, and have a fully fit Demba Ba next game.

Ba and Cisse will both get plenty of games in ST position due to the amount of games.

 

Oh I don't doubt that we can and will use him as a striker. I also don't doubt that will make him happier.

It's just a long time til 31 July and even longer til 31 August.

Well, if we keep him until 1st aug, at least if he does leave, we can sell him for a big amount. I'd much rather keep him, though, and get a 3rd striker in.

I can see why Pards wants us to have 3 strikers like.

 

3 is a minimum, in addition to the Ameobis.

 

I know, but I mean 3 quality strikers.

Best was good, but we could do with 3 strikers around Demba/Cisse level. With Shola as support.

Ba, Cisse and Guidetti would be great.

De Jong would have been great, but sadly, no dice.

 

We're ticking off the days. Ba and Cisse are great strikers to have in your squad. We could do with a couple more options. Shola has found his role now, bit part appearances to shore up at the end of games. He will get the odd start in the cup or europa games. We could maybe do with one or two more on the back of the departures of Best and Lover. I'd still like to see Jordan Rhodes as the development option. The links with Carroll would of course be very nice but I think its a non starter personally. We won't pay the fees and I can understand that. He'd be a great option to have come ACON time but Senegal might not even be there.

I don't mind if its Guidetti or whoever, but we will need a minimum of one to supplement Cisse, Ba and Shola. Two really because Shola is not really a great option as a starter in the PL.

 

I personally think we should sign another quality striker + get our scouts to find us another developing youngster striker.

 

Does anyone know much about Guidetti, all I know is he is going out with Mischa Barton.

 

Saw bits and bobs of him in Holland last year. But you know what eurosport highlights are like, just the best bits, so he looked top class! His record was very good even if it is Holland (20 in 23 or something like that). Man City were having kittens when they thought they were gonna lose him and there was some confusion over his contract, so that would suggest the lad is a talent.

Right age etc but I think we'll end up paying a pretty penny if we did want him.

 

We know he can take pens.
