If Beth is suggesting that the young man should be on the banner, then how about Jim Gregory, Dave Clement, David Bulstrode, Ray Jones all very sad, how about my old man 60 years thick and thin in all weathers home and away poured £000's into the club. Your point about Jim Gregory, Dave Clement, David Bulstrode and Ray Jones is valid, but why not make it first time rather than in some pathetic attack on Swords, or do you want to appear to be a crass and insensitive moron?
This might prove to be more difficult than we thought. I love the idea of having as many players as possible but i don't think we will be able to keep everbody happy and we will deffo have more of the "what about him". The club is entering an unprecedented era under our current owners. Our club is now going through the gears faster than at any time in our recent history. Although our past has to be recognisd and remembered, our present is exciting and also must be reflected. I like the Macca, Cisse, Ali and TF original photo highlighting our past in macca our present in Cisse and hopefully our future in Ali (although this could be adel). Let 68 produce a couple of options and keep it simple. I also love Norways photo. Club legends, but IMHO some of our current crop should be mentioned as we find ourselves on the verge of creating new history. It's exciting times at the bush, i would love that to be reflected in our background.
With all due respect to all the great players that have worn No.10, or any other number for that matter, that was then and this is now. We need a banner that reflects the club as it is and where it's going. The general consensus is that four players and the badge would fit the bill. My four would be Cisse, whose goals kept us up, Taarabt, who is our 'maverick', Mackie, who epitomises everything we'd want to see in a true Ranger and Hill who was everyone's Player-of-the-Year. It could be changed annually to reflect the club's progression...
Having missed the comments about my suggestion re Kiyan last night, only saw the comment from LIUTB this morning. To start as Col said "we have too many players" to chose from .....ISN'T THAT FANTASTIC.......................Come on u RRRRs. I didn't really think I had to explain my thinking, but perhaps for some people I should....My suggestion comes from thought it was nice to have the greats from the past (Macca), The present (Hill/Cisse, yes he is....for that goal v Stoke...if nothing else), the future (Adel/Ale) and what could have been... Kiyan, and it was the tragic unnecessary manner of his death that drew me to suggest him. It maybe inappropriate to you LIUTB, if so just leave it, do not turn it into a personal attack on another regular poster. I seem to come on to thread after thread to defend Swords...this is negative and demeaning. You and I, LIUTB can discuss the matter of my choice of QPR players to put on (my version) of the banner...do not attack another poster, who just reminds you "that you are skating on thin ice"
Legends only is the answer ... run a poll to determine the brief or this will turn out to be a disaster ... also no one noticed what Bricktop said we can make a picture ... easy getting it loaded could take a while. Just another point look closely at the design area: Look at what is masked out if you you want maximum impact and detail. IMO we do not need to say Queens Park Rangers at all
Agreed. Norway's photo is great but even with a crop wouldn't fill the banner's width. Possibly divide the banner in three sections, past as in N's photo, Promotion as in the current photo and lastly up to the present day with Park, Diakite and so on? Sort of a progression through history of last 35 years.
