Reports in the Middle East have put a name to the mystery man they believe to be in pole position to buy Leeds United. Gulf Weekly reports that the group of Middle East investors, with links across the region, is headed by Bahrain’s Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. The report, from the Bahrain-based newspaper, goes on to say that the Shaikh is a lifelong supporter of Leeds and was previously linked with a failed takeover of the club in 2003. According to the newspaper, friends of Shaikh Abdulrahman say he is currently visiting Europe and is not available to comment.

The Al Khalifa family (Arabic: آل خليفة‎ / ALA-LC: Āl Khalīfah / English: The house of Khalifa) is the ruling royal family of Bahrain. The Al Khalifa profess Sunni Islam and belong to the Anizah tribe that migrated from Najd to Kuwait in the early 18th century. They are also from the Utub tribe. The current head of the family is Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who became the Emir of Bahrain in 1999 and proclaimed himself King of Bahrain in 2002. As of 2010, roughly half of the serving cabinet ministers of Bahrain have been selected from the Al Khalifa royal family,[SUP][3][/SUP] while the country's only Prime Minister, Khalifah bin Salman al-Khalifah, (serving since independence in 1971) is also from the Al Khalifa family and is the uncle of the current King.
It was either 2iC to Lonners with us or dodgy deptford. Suffice to say, the clear air, better ambiance, & the promise of PL footy in the near future swayed it in our favour.
Quote from Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. “Leeds mean everything to me, I was born to support them. Those who are closest to me, my friends and my family, know what Leeds United mean to me.”
Warnock did say his next main target would hopefully be coming in by the end of this week That probably means it'll happen in 2 weeks time then...
