If he is found guilty I wouldn't be surprised if Rio looked into whether he could prosecute the FA and Hodgson for not selecting him. I doubt he could claim anything but I'm sure he'll have a look.
Na, innocent until proven guilty is a legal cornerstone. Also, Hodgeson never admitted the decision was based on this issue & merely needs to keep to his story. The fact that Terry was actually very good in the Euros will back His story up quite nicely.

The other thing that struck me yesterday was that the prosecuting barrister who was cross-examining Terry talked about the use of the 'n' word when describing black players, but couldn't bring himself to say it in court (understandably). Isn't there, say, a video on YouTube of a player calling fellow professional black players that very word, that they could have used to illustrate the point?
I was under the assumption that if convicted, Terry wouldn't be charged by the FA as a criminal charge takes precedence to a league charge? As in, his fine is punishment enough? Can someone clarify that for me please...
Dunno. Surely if a Court of Law finds him guilty then the FA are right to issue their own punishment for bringing the game into disrepute yes? This won't be covered by and criminal proceedings.

how can a court case that simply has 2 witnesses (cole is irrelevant as he's merely there for character) tv evidence and some backgorund investigation stuff last a week and a half and cost the tax payer... 50k, 100k, 250k? WHEN THE TOP SANCTION IS A WHOLE £2500 given the fine possible i'd assumed last January this would be a one day case max... it seems ridiculous this amount of court time is used for a tiny fine.... one has to wonder if its a case of celebrity requiring uptmost case and show... not terrys fault. I'm actually wondering if its not all quite a waste of time and the fa should have hit him with 40k fine and 8 matches back then... its be better for all.

The maximum fine is £2,500 but don't they have to pay court costs too...? If the cost is £50k, £100k or £250k you mention, Terry (or whoever) won't pay anywhere near that much still though
