The recent signings and what we already have as a squad had me thinking about how we will play next season. In my mind with the midfielders and versatile front men in Mackie, Johnson, Cisse we could be adopting a similar approach to the spanish in having a team of players comfortable on the ball who can get into the box and score a goal or two. The tactic would suit our team and current squad as with some gelling and tuning here and there we should be able to both play tight passing football as well as the more expansive counter attacking style....

I am drooling and as i write this Adel has popped up on sky sports news..... then TF oh happy days indeed.

I am drooling at the prospect of Adel taking on the number 10 shirt.

So what do you guys think about our line up as at Man City the midfield would often swarm forward and score a few goals.....

Our midfield is looking very, very strong and with Cisse up front the good times could be getting ready to roll.

With Cisse though he can run the channels just as well, so the possibilities next season are almost endless and will leave opposition managers planning on how to contain us and not the other way around...

At least with the way this team is shaping up we can be fairly sure that we won't be playing route one. Thank God.

I have to say, the talk of our players and who we may be buying is all becoming? Well slightly sexual. We had a great team in the 70's, 80's and 90's, but the team we are currently building has the ability to be the best of the lot.

It will take time but I believe we are in for some beautiful football.

I'd play 4-2-3-1, although I know a lot on here don't like it and I don't think MH does too. Any how, how does this look?

    --------------------------Green---------------------
    Onouha------------Nelson------Ferdinand-------Fabio
    ---------------Diakite-----------Faurlin--------------
    Park--------------------Taarabt---------Hoillet/Traore
    -----------------------Cisse-------------------------

Looks great, but i'm really not sure about Onouha at RB. I would change Fabio to RB. Traore at LB and Onouha and Ferdy as CBs.

I am normally really looking forward to the start of the season but at the moment I am like an overdue expectant mother excited and wishing it was here now....

I have waited for the lovely football of yesteryear to return and feel this is the start of a beautiful thing...

Looks fine as one of several options. Reckon Hughesy will see the same players as a 442 set-up with Taarabt in the pocket just behind Cisse.

Agree also with Renault who points out Cisse's experience as a winger. Problem with that is he rarely scores in that position - and remains our only reliably scoring front man...

Yep. MH will probably play 4-4-1-1 away. I hope he does put Adel in the middle, as he's far more effective there imo. Exciting times eh? So many options!!

The team at the moment looks very good. imagine if they get hoillet/samba/ki. would love it if we got samba..

    ................................green.............................

    .......fabio......nelsen.....ferdinand.......onouha......

    ........park......faurlin..........diakite....traore
    ............................taarabt....................

    ............................cisse....................

What a diference a few years make. who would of thought we could have a line up anything close to this 2-3 seasons ago ,in the premier league..

For me i think i ill be putting an each way bet on cisse for top scorer.. 80/1

    oh Happy Days indeed
