I can see your "great" dig about me looking after my nephews.

And yes I watched Star Wars with one of them. That part is clear.

"You're the babysitter...get used to it" - What does that mean?

Also I still can't see what "As I said, I'm sure all those maimed children are worth it."

You said you mentioned maimed children twice. What children were/are maimed?

They walk the routes to annoy. You know this but won't admit it. Tell me why you'd be less British or get less enjoyment if it were away from potential flashpoints?

As for the height of the wall it's irrelevant . The wall is there due to the past issues between both sides.

As for gay pride/st pats day etc. the routes wouldn't go near flashpoints. The organisers wouldn't want them to. If they did they would move so there was less chance of trouble so those attending could enjoy. It's kind of the point I'm making

Simply not true. They walk the routes because they were the routes they always walked, they don't get a map and see where they can cause the most grief, remember most of the OO are elderly people, do you think they want to come under attack by bottle hurling youths?

Why should they reroute? The Ardoyne march goes past the outskirts of the area and to actually witness it you have to travel over to the shops to see it. As an Ardoyne resident on here said, people come in from other areas to cause trouble and to get offended.

The height of the wall is quite relevant. You can't really rub something in someones face if they can't see it. Thats like you taking offence of a picture someone has in their living room.

Near flashpoints? They go through the city centre. Do you think everyone wants to witness thousands of gay people prancing the streets in next to nothing? But you know what, if people don't want to witness it they stay away. As for St.Pats day, that too is throughout the City, again do you think everyone wants to see pissed up people smashing **** up or fighting? No. But you know what they do, they stay away.

    See my point.

Nope I don't. Orange parades have always attracted violence from day one. The routes chosen have always been seen as a deliberate get it up you and supremacist symbols. They do pass though nationalist areas in many towns. They pass nearby others playing their tunes about Protestant superiority or outright killing of catholics, the billy boys gets an airing I believe. So even if you don't see it nationalists are often hemmed in and have to listen to it. It's known to attract trouble in the ardoyne which surely affects enjoyment of it? Ie heavy policing, risk of injury from a ned with a brick etc. so why not move and remove that risk? What difference would it make if you genuinely are there to celebrate the bounce or the orange order?

Gay pride might not be your cup of tea, but they don't play tunes about killing you as a result of your religion or remember historical religious battles nearby that religions area. As for st pats day I don't believe bands march through residential areas. As for drunken yobs, well you get that anywhere, anytime. I have no objection with them also being held in a park though. Makes sence really.

And as for why should the move or reroute? Well it's that attitude which is why large parts of ni will remain a ****ehole and a laughing stock for much of the world IMO

I don't very often post on GC, but Medro, your name is a spoonerisation of Pedro Mendes, am I correct?

You do know he's very probably a Catholic, don't you?

And a very popular chap, down at Fratton Park, to boot.
