Fair enough, i should have said "Liverpool are actively trying to sell Andy Carroll"
However that is much less catchy (and i didn't want another failed forum where 6 people reply)

The media are just 'reading inbetween the lines' as usual - trying to make a story out of nothing.

I don't know where I could find this information but I'm willing to wager most of Andy's goals have been with his feet no?

Now this is going to sound crazy I know, but hear me out. I genuinely do not believe Andy is a typical "big man head goal caveman ooga ooga" type player. I don't believe he's in the mold of Peter Crouch or the hoofball style players. Everyone is saying he doesn't fit in with the style of the team but thats absolutely wrong. As well, forget about his price tag. It has absolutely nothing to do with his football skills and he should be judged on what he has been doing, not what the management expected.

His ability to head the ball in is near perfection and only needs the fine tuning of experience. When we played to his head, he occasionally showed signs of brilliance, but due to **** service from Downing usually he never got to show it. I can't count how many times I saw him jumping for a cross. When you're as ****ing tall as him you shouldn't be jumping for a cross.

More importantly however is his play with the ball at his feet. At the beginning of this last season and the end of the one before it he looked like a fish out of water. (There's a gif of a pony with a ball that exemplifies this). However beginning this year he's shown glimpses of his good sense of strength with the ball. He's become fantastic for link up play due to his height AND from one touch passes. Sure he will never dribble past 3 players but he can get the ball to Suarez who can. He can hold off a defender to allow Suarez to pass him, he can provide a holding option in offense (like Lucas in mid).

These aren't 30+ goal per season attributes but they are invaluable to a team trying to play pass and move football! He's been on an exponential learning curve and he's obviously only getting better. Suarez himself has come out saying that Andy is indispensable to the team, that he is a great passer (short distances) and I believe without him we won't be able to break down defences as well as with him.

Copmletley agree with Thiss, AC gives far more options than hit & hope football. If he goes and we get Dempsey & Borini to relapce I gaurantee that I will not spend a ****ing penny supporting the club next season, they will only lose about £700-£1000 but I'll feel better.

I hope this is all bollocks

    ^This

If he's gone, no home, away, and alternate jersey (Gerrard, Jose Enrique, and Andy Carroll, respectively.)

  12. Stopped reading at that point. Next you'll be claiming he shouldn't have to move to get on the end of a cross or, god forbid, actually work to make him self some space...<doh>

This is a tough one. Rodgers says Carroll knows where he stands - does that mean he'll be a bench warmer unless he moves? We don't really know based on what the club has told us.

Have to say deep down i'm not sure if Carroll would suit the new system. I cannot help things he's worth a camble after showing form recently.

Whatever happends now his condifence will be on the floor again.

if we buy dempsey for 7.5mil and sell carroll for 15mil i will form a new committee called "get rid of FSG, Rodgers out" If we actually did any of this press talk I would literally end association with the club.... good job its all press bull.

Can you imagine any side, spurs included who'd sell their players and buy midtable fodder like dempsey.... redkanpp got the sack for saha and nelson among other things and both men followed redknapp out the door.

As i said yesterday rodgers made an error in not quashing this stuff in a press conference and the press are making rubbish up off the back of his less than stellar backing for his own player that he needs. first error by rodgers IMO.

I don't find that interesting in the slightest.

So someone 'high up' at the club told a journalist that they wanted to be rid of English players? How thick does the media think we are?

If I had a conversation with someone 'high up' at the club (seriously could 'high up' be any more vague) and the conversation lead onto English players and the thoughts were they are overpriced and not as technically gifted I would consider that a reasonable conversation. To suggest 'unknown' person would say (knowing this information would be shared) there was a desire within the club to get rid of English players (not specific players, just English) just doesn't add up other than it being an throw away comment.

The paint by numbers journalism that we see these days is pathetic.
