High there mate, welcome to the forum. Please ignore Miggins, he has repeated the same thing since I met him, and endless debating and attempts to create a mutual conclusion on this subject haven't been apparent. So don't bother. We know Schumacher did some bad things, but no-one gets anywhere by being a goody two shoes, Senna/Hamilton... other drivers have been there and done it, Miggins only seems to have Schumacher on his mind. The introduction of the Hans device, cooperation with Schuberth to produce better helmets that can withstand higher impacts as well as keeping the driver comfortable. Continuity with teams to produce glory (Ferrari). Teamwork, relationship building skills, determination, inspiration to younger drivers, are some of his many attributes. Repetition of the same incidents over his career gets a bit boring Miggins, lighten up.
(Chortleâ¦) This is like religion isn't it? Who has been the most important person in humanity? Jesus Christ? Mohammed? Jehovah? Jo Smith junior (the founder Mormon)? Or any other personal favourite? Schumacher will be remembered: of that there is surely no doubt. But as the greatest ever F1 driver? No: only in the eyes of his worshippersâ¦
depnds on what you call good, if turning people off F1 and making sure he always had a massive advantage over his team-mates/competitors so as to make it so boring it wasn't worth watching is good, then yes.
To be honest guys, shall we just nip this in the bud now? You know, rather than it just going on for ages and ages. No one involved in this is likely to change their minds and it's taking the thread off topic. Perhaps we should have a 'Misc Schumacher Thread' where posters can carry on the ever appearing off-topic debates about Schumacher's former years?
Of course he will be remembered, he has his own wikipedia page May need to see the wording again but I believe Westys law has been proved right.
Found it 'Westy's Law states that as an online discussion grows longer, the chances of someone mentioning Lewis Hamilton and/or Michael Schumacher (with possible references to Brazil 2008/Australia 1994) approaches 1. When a discussion reaches such a point, it is generally accepted that there is no point in carrying on the discussion any further.'
I'd give the custard pie award to the McLaren designers, if everyone else is improving, then surely they should be improving too, not going backwards.
Loads of teams are going backwards as well, I don't understand all the stick Mclaren are getting, some teams get to the top through luck, and some through perseverance and hard work, I have no doubt Mclaren are trying their utmost to find a better way of tackling the situation.
I just wish they could merge their current pitstops with their past speed. It would make some sort of hybrid super team.... Oh wait that was Red Bull last year. Just think how many points Button and especially Hamilton would be on now if they had those 10+second pitstop muck ups taken away from their early races.
Yeah I agree, they need to put emphasis on their pit-stops. I was reading an article about Hamilton going on a drinks binge with 10 women in the early hours in the morning, doesn't help the situation (with focusing with the team) does it. There is an element of (I don't care-let the team get on with it).
Yeah... he should be leading the pitstop practice and pioneering new updates for the car prior to Germany, rather than having the audacity to have a night out. I mean, just look what happens when you leave Jenson to do it all on his lonesome. String him up I say.
Be sarcastic all you want, if he really wanted things to go as planned in a pitstop he would di-sect and analyse each issue, it just seems to me that he doesn't care, so why should you expect the pit crew to? After all they are a team. Too much cash to throw down the drain.
oh no. Young aportsman in 'having a life' shocker news story. I take it your aware that when Shcuey was doing the business in his early years, he was so dedicated to F1 that he nicked HHF's girlfriend and eventually married her? Eyes on the prize?
