There obviously already on article on AC being shipped out on loan, but Ben Smith from the BBC has claimed he is on the transfer list. I am not particularly pleased about this but can certainly see why he is on it, i would accept and fee above £15 million (but would hope for a very, very unlikely £20million). It has to be said he doesn't look like he can fit they system, and if Borini comes in would almost certainly be a bench warmer. What fee would you want? Do you think it is the correct decision? Furthermore- The question was put to Tony Evans was along the lines of: "Do Downing + Hendo have a future at the club?" His reply "Downing, definitely not. Henderson, probably not. Someone high up at club expressed to me a desire to be rid of English players" Interesting
We can play tippy tapper all we want with Carroll in the team, he doesn't need to be heavily involved in build up play anyway...more of a focal point. With the system BR plays it is less likely he will be isolated up front which is when strikers are wasted. Loaning him out to WHU is also a waste of time.
**** that! Big AC will have a big season if we give him the chance, this load of **** cannot be doing anything good for his confidence
If true, it is a bad move. Even if he sits on the bench, having that height and power available would be a good thing to bring on in the 75th minute. We look like being Barcelona mk II, who are accused of having no plan B, Carroll would be our plan B. To give Rodgers' his due, he is a man with a plan, and you have to admire that. Personally I'm more a Woody Allen type of manager, who would just buy intelligent players, and give them the overall plan and let them play it how they feel is best.
This is still all BOLLOCKS. Phil McNulty has only re-sated what Gold has said. Liverpool have made no comment whatsoever. The ONLY statement from Dodgers is that he has talked with Carroll and that "Andy knows where he stands". Firstly, you don't get rid of your only striker in favour of an untried 20 year old. Secondly, yet don't take up to a £20 million loss on a player who is still developing. Finally I still don't want Dempsey at Anfield
Still nothing concrete on all of this, who is this Ben Smith? How would he know this? West Ham look interested. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18794865
Ben Smith is a reporter for the BBC and is usually very reliable. Furthermore, I can't say that I'd be too disappointed that may be leaving. I would be more upset if Suarez, Lucas etc wanted to leave.
<<Massive fan of Andy, he is my favorite player. But if Rodgers wants to sell him because he does not fit into our system, so be it. Rodgers is our man now, so we will have to back him. Nice to see a manager with such strongly defined ideas and philosophies. Let's hope he is making the right call. Let's be honest, things can't be any worse than last year...........
True, but at the same time, we did score a few goals last season as well getting a few assists. Would give us more power/strength in midfield and is hard working. Quite technical as well which suits Rodgers's style. Only a few months older than RVP and could have the same impact as a 'McCallister'? Not my first choice but I can see the logic behind this. Although, I could also see the logic behind Adam and Downing.
If he leaves for good money I think most would want at least 15-20 million then fine we can buy a replacement. It just seems like this is just snowballing, we could do with a club statement.
Whatever is decided with Andy I'll back Rodgers 100%. If the right price comes along and he's sold, I can't say I'll be that bothered really.
Jack Stevens on Twitter: "I'm a Man Utd fan, and I'd take Andy Carroll on loan. He's a great attacking option compared to what we've got."
If we signed Dempsey we would all back him, not everyones cup of tea as a transfer target...even mine at one stage. If we got fid of Carroll then I would like to see us bring in 2 strikers. Borini and someone else?
Yeah exactly. Ben Smith doesn't say that AC is on the transfer list (I can't find that quote/tweet) but he does say that LFC are trying to get rid of him. As I've said on other threads, I don't mind this just as long as we get in another striker AS WELL AS Borini else we'd be back to square one. If we were to get £15m+ for Carroll, then I'm sure BR will be looking at getting in another 'exciting' striker.
If Borini gets injured then what other options do we have? Suarez doesn't count as he is likely to be playing alongside a hitman.
Surely if we are planning on selling him we wouldnt put him on the transfer list as that just lowers his value. Does the transfer list eveny exist has anyone ever seen one except in football manager?
