Mr T, again I don't think people should be bullied out of areas because of their religion, race or political beliefs. That happened here many years ago on both sides and that's why we now have divided communities and 40ft peace walls.
Mindy, I take it you had the same stance when it came to the Holy Cross school where parents were taking their children through a Protestant area to school when another route was available?
Yes They should be able to pass through the area but if their children are under threat.....well I would go around
You would all get along better if you stopped seeing each other as Catholic and Protestant, or republican and loyalist. Half the trouble is you both display your politics and religion all over your houses and make sure everyone knows what side you are on ... creating a divide. I'm an SNP voter, and was raised catholic but I'm atheist, no-one but the missus knows which way I vote and certainly none of my neighbours know I was raised catholic. Keep religion and politics to yourself and start relating to each other as Belfastians.
Oh yeah i remember that protest-The world saw what loyalists truely are-sectarian bigots-shouting abuse and throwing blast bombs at young children walking to school certainly grabbed the media's attention alright
Truly pathetic. There's children dying of starvation in the world and you've got a stauner for a bit of bunting and some bumming from the billy boys? You need your ****ing head read, medro.
Im sure Medro forgetting to tell us that it is in fact Short Strand that is surrounded by loyalist areas on all sides and in effect under seige is all perfectly innocent.
More to the story than was in the news. The news did not report about how the tension started with a car knocking loalists off a ladder putting flags up, nor did it mention the fact that quite a number of the parents walking along this route were IRA members. But yes this got lots of media attention. But going by Mindy's logic, they should not have even been walking there in the 1st place. No. Why do you ask? There's always people dying in the world. What do you want me to do about it? But it's not. Its beside a loyalist area of East belfast, the otherside is the motorway and the other is the lagan and over to the city centre.
Get a grip of your knickers, that's what I want you to do, you insignificant little rat jobby. Wisen the **** up.
Or you could just use google maps? http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en...9817411&safe=active&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il No Not yet, 70 more years perhaps
They were IRA kids going to school to rub the proddies noses in it about a guy being attacked - some innocent bystanders rightly let them know what's what. The stones only go one way - they are not thrown back by one side for fear that they will be thrown back again - despite there being a seemingly constant hail of them on a daily basis. I think we've got this all now.
