& this one http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/others/sport-vote-villain-of-the-decade-1842656.html A fool rather than a villain? Maybe, but the man who used the phrase "living the dream" justified his financial wrecking of Leeds United like a bachelor who had maxed out his credit card. A man of quite astonishing naivety who recalled allowing the agent Dennis Roach to attend Olivier Dacourt's contract negotiations. Roach nodded his head a couple of times, said "Oui" and then presented Leeds with a bill of £200,000 for translation services. Ridsdale paid. When you put that into context, Bates aint half bad
If Berylson was gonna sell your club Geezer, and Papa Smurf and Publicity Pete were the only people interested, who would you choose, or would you just go support West Ham, or even move up here and support your first love?
In all seriousness, I think Bates is twice bad. Much worse for a conniving thief to take advantage of a situation then a naive fool to blow a situation. My opinion, anyway, yours may vary.
Jonny - Risdale nearly put you in the grave. Bates' being the conniving thief that he is rescued you and now has you making a profit - how can that be much worse? By inflating your debt he saw off HMRC (see Rangers and Portsmouth) if he hadn't done that you would have been a newco and your only history would be the last 7 years
I completely agree with you. I cannot believe people even compare Bates to Ridsdale. Bates runs the club, not the way people want but he runs the club without putting money into it but with a relatively low risk of destroying the club Ridsdale tried to kill us, he was a complete ****er who was well out of his depth and didn't have any sense whatsoever
If an agent gave Ken Bates a bill for £200k for translation services he would have given them a bill for £210k for being a **** and they wouldn't have needed his translation for where to go next
Wouldn't say he tried to kill us Josh, although he almost did, he was just an incompetent twat who, as you say. was out of his depth. agree with TC though it could have been worse
I hear what you are saying, but it was Bates who came closest to our being shut down with his administration shenanigans whereby the Football League would have been within its rights to hold back the golden share required by the club to play. Ridsdale had no intentions of putting us out of business although Bates once swore he would.
We are heading back to the same place under bates anyway. in a strange way the way both run th eclub so different is leading to the same thing
HEY GUYS BREAKING NEWS IN QATAR (NOT A WIND UP) QATAR AIRWAYS ARE LOOKING AT A DEAL IN EPL GOOGLE "GULF TIMES QATAR" ITS ON THE FRONT PAGE

Not sure if I am missing a point with the Qatar thing they are looking to sponsor (probably a shirt deal) a premiership side, why should it be a concern?
You are pretty much on the money there TC, but i can see Liverpool being the club, not Spurs....why...c'mon TC i marked you as a bright person, Qatar pump money into a 4be2 supported club
