Brendan Rodgers has had the original This is Anfield sign re-instated in the tunnel area.

For all you traditionalists Brendan Rodgers is bringing some good old omens back to the club,In the late 70s and throughout the 80s our most successful period this This Is Anfield sign was up in the tunnel. This changed in the early 90s after work was done in the tunnel areas, well Mr Rodgers is getting it back also to go with Red Nets yes they will return and triangle corner flags with LFC on them.
Last season we had red square type with no LFC on them.

all i can say is i am suspious of the hard sell from fsg at this point... the guys going round the world like rush and fowler, this "traditional" stuff to align with the new kit... i am wondering if rodgers wanted this stuff or is he just in a photo shoot after the press conference a couple days ago.

he really ought to be thinking who to buy and who to keep etc rather than the minutia.... rafa went this way and ended up not getting results.

I like the idea of the red nets, and LFC emblazoned corner flags. It adds a touch of identity rather than another generic set nets and flags. Granted it'll all mean **** all if the results are as poor as last season.

I agree, nothing wrong with a bit of attention to detail. The red nets sound good to me.

Nothing wrong with a bit of attention to detail. Besides, Rodgers won't have spent time on these things, he will have sanctioned it but others will have done the background work. It would only take a second to make a suggestion. It may have even come from supporter suggestions or something...

one can only hope.. this is WHY i said i suspect a FSG snowjob. its all for show. If rodgers is so bored wiating for players to get together he's doing this i think the very least he can do is reinstate the shorts only in training policy of shanks and stop charlie adam looking like a big girl's blouse in every session.

It's an attempt to reconnect with the club. Cheesy? Maybe, Calculated? I bloody hope so; be awful if they did it by accident.

When the sign went up originally it was a gimmick. It took performances to put the fear & legend behind the piece of plastic.

It's marketing. New fans will ask "original sign?" (it's not, this is the one from 1974 to 98, the original got broken) and maybe buy a club sponsored history book or look us up on Wikipedia & learn a bit more about our history.

Little kids will love the new big red bird, maybe buy the stuffed toy and books about its adventures. Or at the very least it might put a smile on a little kid, in pain in some cancer ward as the dude in the suit hops around like a muppet.

The red nets? ...well they're red.

And of course all three stories got LFC on news & sports web pages, face book & twitter for a day at least.

Oh and it got us all talking about our club; not about racism or debts or administration, but fun stuff until we buy some players & argue over whether they're good or not.

    Small things matter too. :D

We should also dye the grass red , make the away dressing room smaller and have no hot water or heating in the away dressing room. **** the away teams make life as hard for them as possible.

Develop that idea to freak them out a bit more. Same door into revolving away dressing room that is half again smaller at half time than it was pre-match. Really build that sense of claustrophobia.....imagine what that would do to Rios head!

Let's go the whole hog and tie their bootlaces together when they're not looking.

We already know why. They're not the smartest bunch out their, and probably keep confusing the ground with water... <ok>

I think refs should know what they'll get at anfield if they don't toe the line... i think any ref who does something to ire the club should come in to find nothing but cold water and no towels... next time he'd be more receptive to behaving.

I think in the emirates?? they designed the away dressing room to be L shaped so the manager can't talk to all players at once, that sort of thing... it does go on for sure in subtle ways. I heard of one club that painted the away dressing room in dull soothing colours etc.. can't remember which but if wouldn't be expensive to just play those games I guess.
