That's an excellent shout. Some picky buggers might say that Lambert, being in the 12 yard 'D', was in the penalty area. They'd be picky, but wrong.
Four, hard to believe isn't it! I wonder how many we scored from outside the box the season before? Any stato's got that info?
I like the fact that we didn't score many goals from outside the area. Unless you're Matt Le Tissier, goals scored from a distance always have an element of the desperate about them. It's good that Saints were confident enough to get the ball into the box to score. How many tries at scoring from outside the box did we have..? I can only think of a few goes from Hammond and a couple of Lambert freekicks.
Ricky vs Crystal palace Hammond vs Leeds Morgan vs Nott Forest and ummmmm i dont know! WAIT! holmes vs someone we thrashed
I like that we score lots of goals from inside the area, but you have to admit that there's not much better than watching a screamer fly into the top corner from 25 yards. Personally I wish we scored more of those too!
We will score more from outside the area this season as we will make more attempts to do so, because sometimes we will be more desperate.
Hopefully not desperate but I agree we should score more. Hopefully our new signings will assist in that regard especially Davis.
I seriously pray we are able to score more from distance this season as the defences are going to be a lot tighter.
That is not officially part of the penalty area. It is only used to offer more space for a penalty kicker taking a run up. If a foul is conceded there, it is a free-kick, not a penalty.
That's good, I like that. Maybe it's because Morgan and Corky aren't exactly goalscorers so didn't have many long shots, but I like to think it's because we could pass teams apart.
Watch at 1:40....We need to see Corky trying this more often...."corkkkkkkkyyyyyyy" lol
