Oscar Wilde said "a discussion about weather is the last refuge of the unimaginative"

Well balls to you ya nancy.

Are any others on this site concerned that they will never get to go in their gardens again? Or get a tan. I cannot recall the last day we had of proper sun. Was it in May or October. I always thought damaging the ozone layer would mean warmer weather but it's been absolute garbage. just spoke to a publican he reckons his trade is down 70% this summer? It's not only here either. In the Maldives its been raining for three months with very few good days!.

    Something is not right.

The weather is pitiful. What's even more pitiful is I'm not going abroad this year in an attempt to save money for a wedding next year - typical, typical.

I have never seen so many slugs in my life - they're eating everything, they've even eaten my lilies, not the leaves the actual flowers (!) - I've been leaving my back gate open hoping a few foxes will come in and chow down on them, but they're still invading in droves.

    Ugh...

Good luck with that Alex. Slugs and snails massive call. Mrs typical made me laugh. In a brief respite between rain showers she screamed at me there was a massive slug on the doorstep. 'get rid of it' she said 'put salt on him quickly before he gets away' and like a mug I ran to the kitchen to get the salt pot.

The hedgehog population has recently declined from 30million to 1-2million, but don't worry, Ann Widdecombe is spearheading a campaign to make them an endangered species, then they'll gobble up all the slugs.

I'm meant to be seeing Bruce at Hyde Park Saturday and I'm starting to get very worried.

I bet the French are like Augustus Gloop right now.

I reckon Bruce is 50/50. I read something in the standard last night about Hyde park it has very poor drainage and needs some urgent attention. Double seeding and a few days of something farmyard. Saw Bruce a few times, the guys a legend. He will overrun by the way.

    Clarence the big man. Rip.

This will hopefully be the first time I see him and I'm gutted to miss out on Clarence.

He's been allocated 3 hours 15 but I'm hoping he breaks the 3 hours 48 he set last week in Madrid.

That ought to **** off the ****ers in Number 1 Hyde Park.

You can't go wrong with bruce even sleeveless shirts make sense when he performs. I saw him at wembley in the 80s jeez it was the 80s! and he rocked. He had to be pushed off the stage and when he sang 'river' it went on for a entire visit to the bar and a pee.

Now back to slugs. If u put thimbles on their antennae do you think they would bump into things?

Blimey, I know he still appears on the telly but didn't think poor old Mr Forsyth was up to doing gigs at his age!

I saw three only today, FHB.

Admittedly, they weren't going very far...

Hedgehogs crease me up. We had one in our garden every night for a couple of weeks and it spent about twenty minutes a night trying to find the same hole in the fence that it always crawled through - when it couldn't find it, which was often, it went back the way it had come and couldn't find the hole it had got into the garden through.

    Bonkers.

We've got a skulk of Foxes in our garden and one of them had me up all night Sunday doing his impression of Alan Partridge shouting 'Dan.'

I like the correct use of the collective term for foxes. I was going to pull up tewk on the description of a group of slugs is of course a cornucopia of slugs or indeed a lessor term but correct is a phlegm of slugs. A group of hedgehogs is of course a prickle. I will let it go but please. Two weeks on Charlton life has changed me forever.
