Ferrari would be interesting, I thought Lotus too but both their drivers look pretty promising. Who knows, Ferrari turned their season around mid 2010 and Alonso almost won the championship, McLaren may well do the same this year and Hamilton will stay on.

Not really a suprise. I was never impressed by Mark in 2010 or 2011 but right now he is driving really very well.

Am i the only one who thinks this silly season could end with no changes among the top 6 teams? Now thats an anti-climax.

Looks like Lewis was never interested in Red Bull for 2013! Though Mark did play a clever game with Red Bull by talking about the possibility of Ferrari forcing them to sign him or bring in the inexperienced Ricciardo or Vergne. I am now starting to think there will be no changes amongst the top teams.

To be honest I'd have been happy if Mark went to Ferrari or stayed at RBR but I suppose this is for the best. There wouldn't be any great Webber-Alonso battles if they were in the same team! Plus, the team may have compromised his title challenge I think if he openly admitted he was going to Ferrari halfway through the season. The speculation ends early this year on that particular loose thread. Happy for Mark <ok>

    Benson's such a ****-stirring prick. <doh>

Disappointed with this simply because it looks like being another boring driver market now. Makes sense for both parties though, the only question was whether Webber valued the prestige of Ferrari enough to leave the best team on the grid, clearly he didn't.

Manny, you'll like this; According to James Allen, Schumacher will be staying at least another year.

Given Massa's sudden upturn in performance, I wouldn't be surprised if he stays at Ferrari for another year, after hearing this.

I wonder if he'll be relieved at this or if it'll hurt his confidence that Ferrari have been talking to at least one other driver.

Yeah, it was last year. Webber had his wing stolen from him in 2010. Obviously the bald one is getting confused.

Surely this thread can be merged with the 2013 driver line ups thread?

Haha, excellent 'Aiplane!' reference. I must have super brain power or something because I type stuff and it happens!

I think he's made the wrong decision staying in Marko's team - surely he would know by now that Marko and Horner will never give him 100% support like they have with Vettel in the past. Maybe this season has given him the belief that he can beat Vettel, as whenever Vettel isn't completely happy with the car, Webber is the quicker driver. At Ferrari, Alonso would beat him almost every time regardless of the car. Still, I think he has missed the opportunity to end his career at Ferrari. I were Webber, I would have waited until late August before signing anything. He knows that he is Red Bull's No.1 choice, so why not delay and see if a Ferrari move was possible?

Another year of stability in the top drivers line-up's would suck, but now it seems likely that Ferrari will keep Massa, and Hamilton will have no other options but to stay with McLaren.

I miss 2009-10. That was a real silly season.

What do people think the chances of Sutil to Ferrari are? He's experienced enough, and probably better than Massa on current form (pre Monaco definitely) And he probably wouldnt mind too much to play 2nd fiddle as long as he gets a drive!
