A person with over 1million followers on twitter has wrote this blog saying how we have submitted a bid for Oscar - https://twitter.com/10neto/

Oscar esta indo para o Chelsea por 30 milhoes e Ganso vindo para o Inter..

He is saying Ganso is joining Inter, while Inter is selling Oscar to Chelsea.

O presidente Giovanni Luigi teria se reunido durante essa semana com representantes do Chelsea para tratar da venda por 20 milhões de euros.

Chelsea's representatives have met with the president Giovanni Luigi to close the deal of Oscar for €20m.

I have heard this too, but there are also rumours saying he is going to Spurs, will be interesting

So far that makes 11,337 players who are "going to Chelsea". How many have we actually signed, 3 is it ????
These reports are starting to piss me off, but I suppose they are the lifeblood of Agents and newspapers.

It's nice to see another club linked with every single professional footballer out there - when Harry was at Spurs, it was always us linked with everyone!

On the topic of Oscar - apparently he said 'no' to Spurs on the grounds of wanting to stay at Internacional. Maybe Chelsea'll have better luck.

A Brazilian football journalist just tweeted: Oscar just talked to Globo Esporte, he said: 'I will stay [at Internacional]

I'm getting confused! My son has just called me and said the deal is now very close to being signed off!

I share your confusion! The player's agent today has said the an agreement could be complete 'within a few days'.

You have Internacional claiming no bid has been made, Oscar saying he will stay, the media and his agent saying the complete opposite. I guess we'll see who's lying soon enough.

It's not a matter of lying.

If Internacional confirm Oscar is leaving, then they will be held to ransom over a replacement, possibly paying double what they could.

Who's my money on? In this case, the agent

It's a short quote and if true, it's likely he said something like "I will stay if Inter want me too" or "I will stay if the clubs can't agree a deal".

Do you guys even need another player like Oscar? Admittedly I don't think I've ever seen the guy play but it sounds like he's another no. 10, which makes him your 4th, 3rd signed in this window.

We definitely needed an injection of creative attacking players but not sure we need another 'number 10' with Mata and Hazard on board. However that's not to say Mata, Hazard and Oscar couldn't play behind the striker, rotating as they can all play wide too.

Exciting though!!

Possibly. It'll be interesting to see how you lined up if you did get him, 3 of them would surely need to start. Behind them I can't see Ramires and Lampard being defensively capable enough to play together and Ramires was arguably your best player last season, whilst Lampard wasn't happy at AVB's attempt to push him to the side. A lot may also rest on Torres getting the goals too, I'm sure he'll be in a much better position to get a lot of goals with 3 creative players behind him but we've seen some of the most creative, technical midfields in the World struggle against strong, bullying midfielders so without a Hulk type player they might be nulified.

I reckon it all comes down to whether Inter sign Ganso

There's nothing wrong with having options. It's become clearer now you need 2 or 3 players for each position to compete at the highest level. Remember this season in particular we are entering 6 different competitions. Our over-reliance on Mata last season was incredible. Had he got injured the season would have been almost a write off. City have 3 or 4 players for each position which shows you need depth

City, really? They had 21 different players start league games last season, you had 27. Yes, you now have cover for Mata but you're risking overloading yourself with lightweight, technical players and shoe horning them in. In my opinion you'd be better off getting a more direct player like Schurrle, Moses or Walcott who you've been linked to rather than spending rumoured up to £25mill on a backup player.

I see your point but Oscar could become a world class player, Walcott and Moses wont. Barca seem to do ok with small technical players <whistle>

Oscar is also someone who can play very well as a deep playmaker, and Chelsea haven't got many of them, Lampard and McEachran are the only ones I can think of.
