I know what you mean, he's not saying that he is going to send him on loan but he is suggesting that he would consider it.

To be fair Pl its all over the web.

    http://news.google.co.uk/news/story...a=X&ei=fRz8T_PLEaSM0wX24ISIBw&ved=0CDYQqgIwAQ

And why would anyone make fun of you, your view is legit.<ok>

And also Mark Hateley was a similar player to Carroll and a few were shocked when Milan signed him,he was a hit over there so your other point is good mate.

Ac Milan of all teams. The same club that would'nt pay £5mil for Aqualani, they are bums theese days and I couldnt see them offering anything near a decent price if they wanted to sign him after this supposed loan (if the story is true)

I'm starting to feel a little nervous now. IF, Rodgers is now making decisions about players who he has only talked to on the phone then it is fair to say that he is going full bore for a repeat of the style that Swansea played last season. If that is true then his promise to stay faithful to the ethos of attacking football that he says Liverpool represents is a complete lie.

What our club needs is evolution and not revolution. It's starting to smell like revolution to me and a repeat of Rodgers time at Watford - with a probable similar outcome!

I know but he might be just giving them a hint to go for it. I hope not, I think Carroll could trun into a Drogba in a couple of years if he works hard.

Can't say I was or am really Carroll's biggest fan but another one of our better players going out on loan???? Don't see the logic in it.

We should get him in at Spurs..he would have a field day in front of our midfield..and then we should sign him for 12 million..cracking player for that price....im afraid his price tag from Newcastle has burdened him a tad.

and starting to judge him before the first kick of ball though Dave? Is it not close to the same thing? I don't know about this loan stuff though, it just seems weird that Carroll would go on loan instead of say Ngoo, Eccleston, Sterling even, etc.

I want to see us in action pre-season and league before I start to get weary of past Rodgers teams.

  11. I've been on a half day training session this morning so had the joys of listening to TalkSport for an hour before and afterwards. The whole time they were building it up dropping in sound clips of Rodgers' press conferences about "fitting the system" etc.

Personally, I think it is just bollox. If you have ambitions to be a decent side then you need different options, especially up front. At the minute, we only have Suarez, Carroll and Bellamy, if Andy were to leave that would leave us needing two incoming forwards. If (and thats still a big if) Borini and Dempsey wee both to come in, it wouldn't give us much of an ariel option. also, if we play the 433 we expect Rodgers to use, we ideally need more than four forwards anyway.

probably just a sound bite, and as it's £35m Carroll it's been made into a story. Can't see why any manager would get rid of a player who has started to show his quality after a few months of intense pressure.

I find it strange that most on here would crucify me if I were to criticise our lack of ambition in the transfer market and spending yet most are ready to write Rodgers off because he wants to send Carroll on loan <doh>. The same rules apply to transfer speculation as to the Carroll loan rumour

    1. It's only a week or two into the window
    2. It's about the bigger picture
    3. Trust the owners
    4. Rodgers knows best
    5. The media know **** all

It's what would be said in reply to a thread if I were to post one about how we are only looking at mediocre players at best and so I feel the same goes here.

    Ach, I dunno.

I can not see a new manager deciding to get rid of a player without seeing him training. I also can't see how in a telephone convo Carroll could have shown himself to be lazy or unwilling, I mean how did that go?

BR "Hi Andy, you all set to play possession football with us this year?"

AC "Not sure about that to be honest boss; I really do like the ball to be lumped up to me by Carra & to have no team mate within 20yards: can we not just do that?"

BR has tried to be neutral by saying "maybe I will, maybe I won't" and the press have gone:

"we can write what we like with that answer"

So far we've approached Roma for Borini (confirmed by Roma)
All that tells us is BR recognises what we all did last year. We're short on effective strikers & so it logically follows, short on competition to keep existing forwards sharp.

We know we wanted Sigurdsson (just not at that price) the solid rumour of Dempsey this week too, as well as Remirez. Tells us? Well that we needed back up & competition in the wide areas. Again we knew that last year too. Can't gamble on Downing improving or Sterling being ready.

Spearing's appearance in press conference states he's staying as is (obviously) Lucas: some of us believe we need an addition here to cover Lucas. Nothing suggested in press to indicate that though.

Shelvey signed a new deal today after a week training with BR.

BR has waxed lyrical about Suarez, Gerrard and Carra: so they'll be here come September.

He's intimated that he'll be happy for Bellamy to stay as well as olive branches to Aquilani & Cole.

Who does that leave at risk in reality?

Adam? Well we all have our doubts to varying degrees.

Henderson? Everything points to a technical player in training so unless BR believes he'll never mature mentally, he's safe.

    Defenders: safe.

Keeper: safe as long as he wants to stay.

So it's really just seeing if all those midfielders/forwards can be bothered and if not the two remaining "possible transfers" come in to replace them.

Because chances are, we don't have big enough money this summer to be buying players purely to upgrade a player/s we only bought last year.

    Nothing drastic being suggested there.

  15. But how do you know Rodgers wants to send Carroll out on loan? As far as I can see, it is bits on bobs being put together (1+1=5) rather than certain comments or facts etc. Milan are interested, that much is clear, but the only thing the press have from the Liverpool end is (a) Carroll supposedly doesn't fit Rodgers' style; and (b) Rodgers didn't praise and defend Carroll like he did when asked about Suarez and Bellamy.

IMO, it is a joke and like with transfer rumours for players joining the club, I will believe it when I see Liverpool Football Club announce it <ok>

This is taken way out of context, imo...

He said this when dispelling the rumor that ac was in for a loan of Andy Carroll, and now they're twisting his words to make it seem like andy is going. Half of the quotes are from there, and half are from a different interview. The media is picking and choosing small quotes, and putting them in an order that is unfair, but makes it seem like BR is saying in a roundabout way that Andy will go. Waste of time for bbc to post this.

I find this statement if rodgers actually said it to be madness.

total and utte rmadness, therefore i'd like a proper source link please... and only form lfc website.

he's basically said carroll has a bad mentality before he's worked with him, tantamount to made him available for transfer and this when he's literally got carroll and nobody else to play 9.... suarez has proved time and agin he can't play up top and is always best behind someone.....

Next move for me is to see if rodgers buys a forward... then if he sells carroll he'll be doing so cos he's insulted the player in his statements before ever working with him to give a clear signal he doesn't want him.
